There are some larger assets in here - like the Malta set, but Mediterranean towns are typically made of small structures with narrow streets, max size is 2x2 / 2x3, maybe 3x2 or 3x3. The large structures are the service buildings and the churches.

If you want a "large city" you have to combine this with other styles like Italian or Arab high density to create that Mediterranean city look.

Okay so It's purely for small little villages then. Would you happen to have any recommendations for a Mediterranean city-style to go with this?

Yep - that is the issue for you - paint 1x1 and 1x2 pieces, maybe a few other sizes, but these are very small assets.

right?

Oh interesting, I assumed the game would just fill in the zones with the assets available.

I will troubleshoot this - I suspect the zone sizes may be too large. These assets are very tiny - try zoning 1x1, 1x2, 1x3 and 2x1, 2x2 spaces instead of painting large areas. The game prefers to spawn 4x4 assets almost exclusively, so if you just zone or paint a whole area and there are no larger assets then the game won't span anything.

I bet that's what is going on but I will test it now, screenshot and report back.
