Description
Damen Stan Tug 1240

The Damen 1240 (fictional design enspired by damen stan series) is a small costal and inland harbour tug,
Its able to escord ships to the port spots up to the size of medium oiltankers.
It is fitted with three main tow winches and further hooking points for towropes.
This design makes it perfect for overland hauls of riverbarges and with its compact size and extreme bullard pull it makes an easy job to push and pull even the heaviest freighters. Furthermore the 1240 has a small, easy to handle 10t cranefor small cargo goods or repair equipment. Its powered with twin 10cyl marine diesel inline engines which runconstantly on arround 6 rps and give it a very fuel efficent design while beeing on speed in excess of 20 knots.
A Autopilot unit with a stepped speed cruise control allow an easy ride on longer missions while constant weather data, radar, radio and camera equipment makes a safe opperating space.

The winches can be controlled outside or in the wheelhouse making small corrections in rope length and heavy weather a comfortable task. Great visibillity due to a allround spotlight and worklight is another major aspect for the 1240s superiority in the daily tug of war.
the comfortable cabine houses place up to three crewmembers or 6 when having to shift work. 3 beds are installed in the bow, a Galley and Small Mess plus a comfortable Restroom are available. Automatic bilge pumps act when a leak sprang or the on deck comparments flood. Solar Pannels on the Roof allow them to function even if the Diesel generators are deisabled and allow a more enviromental friendly work when the diesels arent needed.

Versteeg Sleepdienst

This specific Damen Stan tug 1240 is owned by the Dutch Private Tugging Company Versteeg Sleepdienst. Theyre Opperating in the waters of Maassluis and the vessel itself is named Tender - 1. Further Tugs like ASD and other vessels are in plan to build for this company.

This vessel is a match up to my original Maersk supply service Series. This series however is gonna expand to other companies opperation in international shipping so the name will change.

Things to know:
Most parts are Labeled and easy to understand systems. The speed control varies from 6-7 knots to max speed. you can set it higher or lower, deactivating the function will cause in resetting it to the lowest point.
all lights except of the Restroom and cabine are available at the main board.

The anchor winch isnt the longest with 20m but it will do its job in shallow waters and rivers. otherwise you need to tight it up in a port.

do actually be carefull when using the push bar. normally nothing breaks apart however when you crash into something on high speeds...
i mean a Mincroctonroller isnt a rubber bumper. otherwise youre good to go.

Start up as followed:
- Deck and cabine systems on main board (maybe light the engine room)
- electrical relays on the engines themselves
- start engines

And i hope someone finds the small easter egg...
