The first and likely last of the cobalt class battleship(s), the BB 01 Aegisbane would be the paragon of defensive doctrine within the territories of the Sojourn Union of Nations during it's early period of growth. Tasked with said defensive doctrine, otherwise known as the 'Castle Doctrine', the Aegisbane would see a good deal of service during the early defenses of SUN territory; most notably during the 'Ensemble of Giants'. When a greater FTL network was established throughout the inner system the Aegisbane would also see action outside of its home sector. Though weaponry issues would stifle its effectiveness during it's one battle outside of the SUN home sector. In its most recent fight the Aegisbane would see heavy damage, bringing its effectiveness into question as it becomes more and more outdated. However, recent refits have quelled many of these concerns, among the changes is most notably the addition of shields. There is no doubt with careful planning and usage the Aegisbane will live to see a long service life, despite its aging design.

Description

This build was constructed around 2-3 months ago, it has so far only acquired one refit making the current version the Mk II. The Aegisbane itself is a multi role platform built on top of a slow but durable chassis. Weaponry wise, it sports a healthy amount of secondary anti sub-capital weaponry, along with a suite of slaved 400mm anti-capital batteries, and a devastating pair of 1500mm lances.
