Artificialis - Paleogene Collection II

20 items
Description
After a long break, Artificialis returns! This new collection will be a continuation of our research into the Paleogene. With your help, we can complete our studies and bring back these ancient animals.

This collection will focus on the Monte Bolca Formation, between 30 and 50 million years ago. A tropical lagoon on the northern coast of the Tethys Ocean, this reef system had many fish families one can find in modern reefs, as well as a couple remnants of Mesozoic lineages.

This collection is intended for beginner through moderately experienced aquariums, with the only criteria to start being observational data.

Animals under study:
Dorudon atrox
Eoantigonia veronensis
Eoplatax papilio
Eotheroides aegyptiacum
Exellia velifer
Gisortia gigantea
Harpactocarcinus punctulatus
Histionotophorus bassani
Mene rhombea
Narcine molini
Paranguilla tigrina
Pesciarichthys punctatus
Pycnodus platessus
Sphyraena bolcensis

A big thanks to IritatingFish for the use of models and animations in this pack and a thanks to everyone for their kind words and support through all of this!

Ill be honest, after doing some of my own research on this site this is the only one of your packs where I think the choices are a bit questionable. Mainly with Sphyraena and to a lesser extent Narcine. I think it would have been better to have had Blochius and Lessiniabatis instead but they are still very well done critters.

And the last content update is out for the Paleogene II, I've added tags Eras, Epochs and Ages and will be doing so for my previous mods at a near date. The Epochs and Ages are accurate to the species, while the Eras and Periods are accurate for the genus

Thank you both! I'm happy you enjoy this and look forward to bringing more extinct animals to the game! Speaking of which, we have two more fish that have been added for the penultimate content update of this mod.

Nice to see this back! Looking forward to the Neogene pack and making a whole prehistoric aquarium.

I have one sabertooth animal planned for the next pack. I'd like to learn how to animate terrestrial animals this winter though, so who knows about others

Thank you both! I have most of the update animals finished and Bajaichthys didn't make it in, but I'd really like to make more fish from this formation so maybe down the line!

Incredible! Can you bring Bajaichthys in this pack? It is a very strange and unique species of this formation.
