It exists for people using XDR that would like to enjoy the wiltOS Custom Weapons that exist such as The Avengers addon, Day of Defeat Authentic Weaponry, and Simple Sword Art or ALAS V2.

For Clients
Once you subscribe to this addon, make sure you are subscribed to at least one other animation integration addon, preferably one that supports wOS. You do not need this addon if you are using the full base. From there, go into Garry's Mod and let it download. Once it completes, enable it and restart the game. You can now enjoy using the animation system.

There is a new context menu widget next to the player model button that will allow you to view the animations of your current model. You can use this to see what other animations you have, and get the names of the sequences. This animation viewer will also allow you to see more than the hardcoded limit of animations that can be listed in the "Edit Icon" entry of the spawn icons.

For Developers
This addon includes the hold type system as well as animation awareness system for extensions, so your weapons and back-end code will still function. This does unfortunately expect that your clients have some form of animation base that can mount extensions, and I will only officially support those that have worked with me to make sure they are up to the standards presented in the main base. So it would be a good idea to provide some links in your workshop addons, unfortunately it gets this complicated due to the duplication of these bases.

So I have not found much more through testing but I am curious if there is a list of all the Data Translations that can be modified somewhere? I know of the primary attacks and jumping and landing (which I'm not sure what does) but I cant help wonder if there aren't more Translations like for sitting as an example. Are there any more that I'm not aware of for holdtypes? Thank you!

Yep I definitely am, I will do some more testing and troubleshooting later for sure. If it would be helpful I can try and record video at some point. I almost wonder if it's just a definition issue somewhere but I wouldn't know where. If I substitute the standard ar2 holdtype as my swep's holdtype all works as expected and proning as well as diving with action gmod animates correctly. The moment I make the swep use my custom holdtype that has a base class of ar2 and just the run animation modified those no longer work but every other animation does including the one I changed, it's very strange. I appreciate the conversation and sorry if I'm just turned around somewhere, still very much new to the world of lua. If it is simply a limitation of what is possible or a conflict on those addons ends such as Prone mod I understand, thanks again!

Make sure you are using the wOS version of prone mod not standalone. There should be a prone table that is registering or a prone check

The custom ones from the addons, sorry should have been more specific. Essentially, the hold type set animations from the Data Translations works as expected. However when using the Prone mod and going prone with my holdtype that is using ar2 as a base class for example, the animation plays for going into prone, but then snaps up to a default idle once finished and should be proned on the floor. I suspect there are just more "hidden" Data Translations that must be set? Or am I wrong on that? Only other thing I can think of is that something like the prone mod is just looking for default holdtypes but I'm not sure. Thank you!

When you mean the animations do not play, which animations do you mean? The custom ones from the addon or your hold type variant?

Hello! I have a question about the holdtype system. I am trying to create a custom holdtype where the base type is the ar2 but it simply has a different running and crouching animation. This works as intended, however when diving using Action Gmod, Proning using the Prone mod, or Sliding using an addon I can't think of right now the animations do not play. My best guess is that while I am using the base type of ar2 it may not be grabbing all the relevant data to duplicate ar2? Are there any additional Data Translations that I can assign that would fix this? I'm sorry if it's a silly question, and thank you in advance! Please let me know if more detail is required!
