AH-67 Vampire | Advanced Attack Helicopter [Weapons DLC]

Description
The AH-67 Vampire is an advanced multi-crew ground attack helicopter. It is principally designed to be operated in multiplayer by a pilot and a gunner. With GPS navigation, infrared HUD projection, and the infrared targeting camera, the Vampire is capable of black-out night-time operations.

It features the following technologies:
  • Stabilized targeting camera with laser
  • Laser-guided ground attack missiles
  • Articulating laser-directed rocket pods
  • Mixed AP/HE stabilized light autocannon
  • GPS Autopilot
  • Flare pods
  • Infrared camera HUD overlay

Weapon Details:

Main Gun:
The main gun is a light autocannon that is aimed by the gunner's stabilized targeting camera. It auto-compensates for range and fires alternating High Explosive and Armor Piercing ammo. It is armed with 200 total rounds.

Laser-Guided Anti-Armor Missiles:
The aircraft comes equipped with 4 laser-guided missiles. These missiles are effective out to about 800 meters and are guided by the laser of the gunner's stabilized targeting camera. They are designed to be compact so their performance is likely inferior to other, much larger, missiles on the workshop.

Articulated Rocket Pods:
The rocket pods are fired by the pilot. If the gunner's laser is detected in front of the aircraft, the pods will be automatically articulated to compensate for range and a few degrees to the left and right to significantly increase the accuracy.

Start Up Instructions:
  • Turn on BAT, GEN, and Avionics switches (right console)
  • Turn on Engine switch (left console)
  • Advance throttle to full
  • Release parking brake (floor)

Pilot HUD Symbology:

Pilot Nav Display Symbology:

Gunner Display Symbology:

Gunner Armament Screen Symbology:

This aircraft is planned to be updated with a multi-mode search and targeting radar for use with radar-guided missiles.

There are bound to be bugs. If you find one, or just have a suggestion, let me know below.

I actually don't do anything special, although you could probably use a delay block or something.

This build is very high tech and brilliant. I have a question though. How do you make a rocket counter? The rockets have a delay to them so when you spam them they do not launch fast. That blocked me from making a synchronized up down counter. Simlpy how do you do that?

Thanks for the update

also the missile that hit the helicopter did not detonate near the helicopter, they both hit the ground and then detonated.

i found that the outer missiles like to get caught on something and one of them even hit the helicopter itself, making the two outer missiles completely useless. they are getting caught on the wing thing i think, but the two inner missiles work really well. so ether the wing things need to be expanded so the outer missiles don't get caught, or remove the outer missiles completely. i believe these are the two main solutions to the missiles getting caught on the wing thing.

The missiles can be very inconsistent and can act differently depending on the physics settings and the wind. I will reduce the launch angle, thanks for letting me know.

so i fired a second hell fire, and it just flew up into the propellers and detonated. but it detonated and damaged the helicopter. maybe to prevent this there could be some kind of 'grace' period where it cannot detonate for a few seconds, or until it gets like 20 meters away.

i got it to fire correctly, and i saw that it got very uncomfortably close to the propellers, or so it looked. also i think that what happens when the missile gets stuck against the aircraft is that wonky storm works physics just kinda bounce the missile off of the little wing thing that the missile is mounted on. and unfortunately, it happens a lot of the time when i use a hell fire missile.
