First, I can't select either of the colors beyond Mecha Birdo. Doing so gives a fatal error, and crash.
Second is very strange. This worked perfectly fine last night when I was using one character to fight three Kids at once on a team against me, but today, putting up any more than one instance of The Kid makes the game stop responding.
Besides that there are just a couple other things I'd like fixed(?): I haven't actually played IWBTG so maybe I'm just missing a reference, but as is, Taunt just looks broken. If this were intentional, I'd like to be pointed to the source of the reference; otherwise, I'd prefer he either have a proper taunt or none at all.
Least important ask: I think wavedashing with The Kid would be kinda funny - as is, he jumps too high before airdodging and doesn't seem able to buffer wavedash immediately from jumpsquat. Super not necessary to add if it's too much trouble though.
That's all I have in terms of suggestions. Overall, I really like what you did with the newer iteration, nice work!
Keep up the good work, dude.
Knockback would be calculated as if he was a very light character on 50%.
He still would be fairly weak, without any recovery options, and a fairly predicitable play style, but it'd make him a bit more balanced.
If one were to make him a bit more powerful, why not implement abilities from the Gaiden sequel?
Grapple would be his recovery option, allowing him to actually stay on the stage if he were to get launched, and the charge shot would be a nice way to get a lot of damage against your enemies, and actually knock them back, allowing The Kid to keep his distance, just a bit easier.
I think it would make for a really fun character.
Now excuse me for the wall of text I'm about to write, but this gave me a whole lot of inspiration, and I don't have anywhere else where I could write this, so here we go.
I like the idea already of playing the kid with the control scheme of the original IWBTG, but while 1 hit ko makes for a cool challange, it makes for a really weak character.
To keep the spirit of the original game, he still should have only 1 hp, but should have some way of actually surviving the attacks, other than escaping. That's why I propose a dodge meter.
Instead of taking regular damage, Kid's meter would deplete upon getting 'hit', but if he would manage to stay away from strikes long enough, it would regenerate. (Continued on comment 2)
