The Kid [Remastered]

Description
Defeat all bosses with the probably most fragile fighter in Rivals of Aether.

This is a edited version of the already existing The Kid , with improved movement, a dash and some overall adjustments to be more in line with the original game.

Special - Gun:

Shoot bullets to damage the target, one bullet does 8 Damage.
(Funfact: It takes exactly as many bullets to defeat the first form of Dracula as in IWBTG.)

Dodge - Reload:

Disappear, dash forward and reappear in front of the checkpoint.

Dying:

It only takes one hit to kill The kid, like in his original Game, so good luck!

That's it?
Jeah, he plays almost exactly as in his original game, only the dash has been added to survive unavoidable attacks from the RoA Workshop bosses.

How does PvP work?:

In versus mode the Enemies have Health bars, shoot them to kill them, like in IWBTG,

Last words:

I hope you like this character, comment if you have suggestions for improving the character.

enjoy!

There are two problems with this mod.
First, I can't select either of the colors beyond Mecha Birdo. Doing so gives a fatal error, and crash.
Second is very strange. This worked perfectly fine last night when I was using one character to fight three Kids at once on a team against me, but today, putting up any more than one instance of The Kid makes the game stop responding.

The best part is it even has compatibility with itself! Good fun to be had, fighting The Kid(s) with himself.

*My one serious request* is that Attack also shoots bullets (maybe even Strong, too), not just Special. It's not a massive deal since I can rebind my buttons to make things more convenient, but it'd be a nice QOL thing as someone playing on a GC controller.

Besides that there are just a couple other things I'd like fixed(?): I haven't actually played IWBTG so maybe I'm just missing a reference, but as is, Taunt just looks broken. If this were intentional, I'd like to be pointed to the source of the reference; otherwise, I'd prefer he either have a proper taunt or none at all.

Least important ask: I think wavedashing with The Kid would be kinda funny - as is, he jumps too high before airdodging and doesn't seem able to buffer wavedash immediately from jumpsquat. Super not necessary to add if it's too much trouble though.

That's all I have in terms of suggestions. Overall, I really like what you did with the newer iteration, nice work!

Honest to god a genuine improvement on the old mod. and a good one to boot. Maybe the shots are a bit too op, ya know, 8% a piece, but it at least makes a lot of sense in a canonical way come to think of it. And the taunt is either kinda broken or a reference that not even my 1000 iq brain could fathom. I love it.
Keep up the good work, dude.

Once depleted, The Kid would die to any attack, as usual.
Knockback would be calculated as if he was a very light character on 50%.

He still would be fairly weak, without any recovery options, and a fairly predicitable play style, but it'd make him a bit more balanced.

If one were to make him a bit more powerful, why not implement abilities from the Gaiden sequel?

Grapple would be his recovery option, allowing him to actually stay on the stage if he were to get launched, and the charge shot would be a nice way to get a lot of damage against your enemies, and actually knock them back, allowing The Kid to keep his distance, just a bit easier.

I think it would make for a really fun character.

Thanks for the re-make. I like what you did with him, but he probably should have an alternate version, that would allow him to be somewhat viable.

Now excuse me for the wall of text I'm about to write, but this gave me a whole lot of inspiration, and I don't have anywhere else where I could write this, so here we go.

I like the idea already of playing the kid with the control scheme of the original IWBTG, but while 1 hit ko makes for a cool challange, it makes for a really weak character.

To keep the spirit of the original game, he still should have only 1 hp, but should have some way of actually surviving the attacks, other than escaping. That's why I propose a dodge meter.

Instead of taking regular damage, Kid's meter would deplete upon getting 'hit', but if he would manage to stay away from strikes long enough, it would regenerate. (Continued on comment 2)
