New China Tea Room

Description
The third asset in a new series of buildings based on the once thriving, but now depressed town of Wilkinsburg, PA just outside of Pittsburgh.

This two story commercial building houses an American Chinese restaurant on the ground floor. This entry is a little different from my first two WIlkinsburg assets, as this business was never at this location. I couldn't find any information on what was actually here. The best I could find in my research was that there was a resident who was listed as a grocer at this address around 1900. Whether or not his business was located here or not is anyone's guess, but it would predate this building anyway. Instead, I decided to pay tribute to the Fong family that owned this building, and lived in the upstairs apartment. They actually did run a Chinese restaurant called The New China Tea Room at some point, but it was located at a different spot in town, and also ran the Chinese Laundry in my previous asset. Two additional apartments are located within the building, but since C:S doesn't allow for true mixed use zoning, it's just a commercial building.

The building appears to still house residents within the apartments, though the storefront remains vacant.

This 2x2 low commercial growable is based on the Wilkinsburg, PA location, I made it true to scale, so it is narrower than the 2 unit (16M) lot. Due to this, it is recommended that you use Move It to achieve the wall to wall look.

Please give me a like with a "thumbs up" if you enjoy.

Features:

Level 1 commercial growable (2 tile wide lot). Includes 4 color variations for bay window bump out siding.

These assets are great, but as a Pittsburgher this also makes me sad.
