Hello there fellow Vault Hunters. After a few years of being on the Gearbox Software Forums, updating, figuring out drop locations and handling my cosmetic lists, I decided to share them on Steam as well. I've been thinking about sharing vehicle paint jobs and parts, and also some other vehicles that exist in the Borderlands 3 universe, but I saw a paint job guide here, so I wasn't sure about mine. But after the Gearbox Software Forums got shut down in the summer of 2022, I thought I share those as well. This guide is almost indentical to the ones I had on the forums, just made some tiny modifications to fit into a Steam guide. Credits also go out for (ex) Gearbox Software Forums members helping with some of the cosmetics, namely apocalyptech and GrzesPL and all of the other people who contributed in some way there, and also here on Steam. Thank you guys.
If you see an error, or you actually have some info on any of the missing drop places, let me know in the comments.
Also, some of my earlier pictures uploaded here in this guide disappeared for no reason, so if the Rare Spawn location pictures disappear, let me know.

1. After the 31/08/23 hotfix has been pushed out, all the cosmetic items that had an expired SHiFT code, been tied to buying real life things, donating or signing up for various things, even those that seemed bugged, been added to Crazy Earl's shop and can be bought for Eridium. Also, said hotfix added 4 new heads, 4 new skins, 2 new ECHO skins, 4 new Weapon Trinkets and 1 new Weapon Skin, all placed into their respective selection menus/Quick Change Station.
1.1 The 18/07/24 hotfix (Heroes of the Borderlands) has added 4 new heads, 4 new skins, 2 new ECHO Themes, 4 new Weapon Trinkets and 1 new Weapon Skin, all placed into their respective selection menus/Quick Change Station.

2. Obtaining the story and side mission based heads and skins for all the characters requires that all these missions to be completed with every character individually, also, all of the skins and heads sold by Crazy Earl need to be unlocked individually. Other skins and heads can drop, and can be unlocked with any character for the other ones (excluding the ones which come from various outside sources of course, like SHiFT codes, etc)
2.1 The Takedown and Arms Race based skins are shared between characters, meaning, they need to be unlocked with only one character.
2.2 All of the ECHO Themes, Room Decorations, Weapon Skins and Weapon Trinkets are shared between characters. All of the Emotes (except of the seven included in the Vault Cards, the ones rewarded after Crew Challenges and the ones that can be bought from Crazy Earl) can drop and can be unlocked with any character for the other ones.
2.3 After the 06/24/2021 patch, the event based cosmetics have been added to their respective main boss’ (and “heart’s”) loot pool. The second round of events (the 2020 Bloody Harvest, the 2021 Broken Hearts Day and the 2021 Revenge of the Cartels) cosmetics can be unlocked the “traditional way”, by completing the challenges (at least I had a functioning event tab with the challenges), but they can also drop from their respective loot source.
2.4 If you see a "(see notes)" indication after a cosmetic item, refer to "Active cosmetic item Shift Codes" section, you'll find all the codes there.

3. Vault Card cosmetics can be earned in two ways. Either unlocking them with Vault Card keys (NOT to be confused with the Diamond Key or the Golden Key), or by opening a chest in the Vault Card tab (one chest is granted and can be opened in the Vault Card tab each time you level up your Vault Card). Although, chests might contain Vault Card keys, Eridium or even a Diamond Key instead of dropping an actual cosmetic item, so it’s all RNG. All Vault Card cosmetics are shared between characters, including the seven Emotes from the Vault Cards (but only those seven)
3.1 Each Vault Card has its own progress bar, daily and weekly challenges, also their own corresponding Vault Card Key.

4. Designer’s Cut (DLC 5) and Director’s Cut (DLC 6) are part of the Season Pass 2/Ultimate Edition of the game. They grant a new model (body), a skin and a head for each Vault Hunter. The bodies need to be accepted in the in-game mail system before they would be added to the Quick Change Station.
4.1 BEWARE The Multiverse Disciples of the Vault cosmetics are available ONLY for Season Pass 2/Ultimate Edition holders of the game, so you need to buy Season Pass 2 (separate DLC purchases don’t count as SP2) or the Ultimate Edition of the game to claim them for free. The Multiverse cosmetic packs can also be bought separately for real money.

5. For the “The Art of Stealth” skin you’ll get two (randomly, for any character) after completing the Crew Challenge for it. One placed in your inventory, another one will be sent in mail.

6. In order to get all the cosmetics from the Science Machine, you need to complete 225 puzzles in total (+5 for the Borderlands Science ! quest, which is basically an introductory to the machine, with no cosmetic reward).

7. My personal experiences were that if you’re farming for Common (White) or Uncommon (Green) rarity cosmetics, they have bigger chances of dropping if the Mayhem Mode is turned off. For Rare (Blue) rarity or greater, get Mayhem Mode turned on. This game is pure RNG, so it’s not a surprise if you get a legendary cosmetic item with Mayhem Mode turned off.

The actual maps included in this guide for the farmable vehicle parts and paint jobs is incomplete. I just included the maps I actually had a part or paint job unlocked, or I saw AND recognised something. I'm planning to make a comprehensive guide of each and every map with farmable parts and paint jobs, but that will take a lot of effort and time, because I have to start a new game after every map to make sure which paint jobs and parts can be unlocked on individual maps so I don't miss anything I might unlocked on earlier maps, and I also have to get those rare spawns as well. Want to do the same for all the other vehicles existing in the Borderlands 3 universe to see if those have any unique horns or paint jobs, etc. So this is a work in progress.

Rare Spawn vehicles might take a few save/quit tries before they actually spawn. For example, the Houndstooth showed up for me after like 70-80 runs, so be patient and always use the Tesla Coil, because you make less damage with that and it also kills the driver. When you kill the driver, other NPCs jump out of the car immediately, DON'T rush to hi-jack the vehicle, because it could easily be blown up by the NPCs, specially if they use Corrosive weapons on higher Mayhem levels. Drivers tend to speed up if you get too close to them, they always try to keep a fair distance, making the hi-jacks harder, so consider using the Tesla Coil. If you don't see a Rare Spawn, feel free to blow up the vehicles you see, otherwise there won't be any new spawns until then. The number of vehicle spawns also varies on maps. I included the spawn rate at the pictures section, you'll find them there.

While going through the unique horns, I realised a thing which you can call a fun fact I guess. If you sit long enough (at least 10 seconds?) in the Outrunner or in the Technical, once you get out of the vehicle and stay next to it, you can actually hear the engine cooling down like you do in real life with those popping sounds and with time it fades away and the engine cools down completely. While there are engine cooling down sounds for the Technical and the Outrunner, there are none for the Cyclone or the Jetbeast.

Some of the unique horns are used multiple times on different type of vehicles. These include:
