Tried for 30 mins, and no crash.
No but it can maintain its momentum longer each round, and that is exactly what it does. Go try it, after 10m or so min it'll crash into either the end station or the beginning station because the momentum will carry it a little farther each time.
It hits max speed every time, so it can't speed up any more, which is the whole point of this design.
