This is an updated version of Ascension Enhancement made by RESPECT THE SHOVEL!, that was for Stellaris 2.1.
All credits goes to him for this work. I only updated the code for Stellaris 3.1 and added built-in compatibility for Gigastructural Engineering & More.

Description:

This mod removes all the Ascension Path restriction for Utopia (i.e. those following the psionics route can also follow the AI route, etc). Hive Minds are no longer restricted to only the Biological ascension path. With Synthetic Dawn, Machine Empires can also follow both the Psionic and Biological Route, though they are restricted from the Synthetic path currently.

Features:

Allows selection of multiple Utopia ascension paths (biological, synthetic, psionic)
Unlocks Utopia ascension paths for Gestalt Consciousnesses



Warning: game balance is not a consideration for this mod.

Versioning:
This mod currently works with the 3.1 release. Utopia DLC is required.

Compatibility:
Built-in compatibility with Gigastructural Engineering & More.
This mod updates a couple pieces of pre-existing functionality. Compatibility is not guaranteed with mods that affect the following ascension perks:

  • Engineered Evolution (Utopia)
  • Evolutionary Mastery (Utopia)
  • The Flesh Is Weak (Utopia)
  • Synthetic Evolution (Utopia)
  • Mind Over Matter (Utopia)
  • Transcendence (Utopia)
  • Synthetic Age (Synthetic Dawn)
  • Machine Worlds (Synthetic Dawn)

This mod also modified the species trait 'Cybernetic'.

Known Issues:
Gestalt Consciousnesses cannot research Psi Jump Drives or Precognition with Shroud help. Instead, random discovery now occurs, though rarely.

Ouch, thanks for the report, I reverted the mod to the previous version while i investigate the problem.

Hi, just wanted to let you know that since the last update (6th of November) this mod now causes random -but frequent- crashes when launching the game.

I've had these happen with Biological Module (even though it worked perfectly fine just before), but now the game crashes even without Biological Module on.

[edit] I found the error; it's in 02_government_buildings ; looks like you're missing the last "}" for the triggered_planet_modifier listed under building_psi_corps

Just encountered an issue with the recent (Oct 23) update: it removes the Embassy Complex building unlock from the Xeno Diplomacy tech, and removes the Grand Embassy Complex building unlock from the Xeno Relations tech; and I'm not sure why.
