Display Your Skulls

Description
NOW YOU CAN DISPLAY YOUR SKULLS! This is an add-on mod for All Races Drop Skulls, which is required. Also required is the Hearthfire DLC. This add-on mod adds skull displays to a wall of each of these player homes--Breezehome, Honeyside, Vlindrel Hall, Hjerim and Proudspire. A vanilla edition of this mod is now available, which does not require any DLC.

Thanks to all who tried out the mod and even rated it. As promised, I will be adding skull displays to the Hearthfire homes. If you appreciate this DLC edition of the mod, please consider rating it. Suggestions and questions are welcome.

1. Description
============

This mod adds skull displays to a wall of each player home in the vanilla Skyrim game:
* Breezehome in Whiterun
* Honeyside in Riften
* Vlindrel Hall in Markarth
* Hjerim in Windhelm
* Proudspire in Solitude

Proudspire also has a second room with skull displays on three walls. The displays of four of the homes are confined to only one wall so it will be compatible with as many other player home mods as possible. They work much like the bookshelves of the game, but display the skulls of All Races Drop Skulls.

=============================
2. Locations of the Skull Displays
=============================

* Breezehome in Whiterun: Enter the home. At the top of the stairs is the place to display 12 skulls, with six on the table and six on the wall. Home is where you hang your enemy's head, after all!

* Honeyside in Riften: Enter the home and turn right. Enter the bedroom. To your right next to the basement stairs is where to mount 12 skulls on plaques. Because some just deserve to have their heads mounted on your wall!

* Vlindrel Hall in Markarth: Enter the home. Go to the back of the house. On the fireplace mantle and above it is a display for 12 skulls. Already displayed is a bonus--the skull of an unlucky guard, who used to be an adventurer like you, till he took an arrow in the head!

* Proudspire in Solitude: Enter the home. Go straight ahead and up the stairs to the dining room. There you will find silver platter displays for 12 skulls. Turn left and go through the bedroom door. Turn right and look to the wall on your right. You may display three more skulls there. If they stare as you lay in bed at night, try counting your enemies' heads on a platter. It's better for helping you sleep than counting little sheep!

* Hjerim in Windhelm: Enter the home. Go up the stairs. Turn left. Along the the wall is a display for 16 skulls on pikes. Because who would not like to see his enemy's head on a pike?

5. Frequently Asked Questions
===========================

Q. Who should consider the mod?
A. Anyone wanting a better way to display skulls collected using All Races Drop Skulls.

Q. Can I use the mod if I don't have Hearthfire?
A. Please subscribe to the vanilla edition, instead.

Q. How do I use the displays?
A. Have skulls from the mod All Races Drop Skulls in your inventory. Approach a skull display until the message appears, "Activate Container." Press the button on your XBox controller or key on your keyboard to activate the display. Select OK to the message telling you how many skulls may be added. Select skulls to remove from the display. Select skulls from your inventory to add to the display. Skulls appear on the display in the order you added them.

Q. May I take just one skull from a display?
A. Yes, just like bookshelves, you can take one without opening your inventory. Point at a skull until its name appears, then press the button or key to take it.

Q. Can I display skulls from other mods?
A. Yes, you can display any skull created with the animal part vendor item, which is the default for skulls in the game.

Q. Will you add displays for the skulls of Dragons, Giants, Mammoths and Trolls Drop Skulls?
A. Yes, if this mod does well, it might be worth making a display mod for those skulls, too.

Q. Do I need to decorate my player homes to get the skull displays?
A. No. The displays will be there before you purchase the upgrades to the homes. (For an example, see the screenshots of Hjerim on the Description page.)

Q. Were any changes made to the homes other than the displays?
A. Only one: The mounted slaughter fish above the fireplace in Vlindrel Hall was replaced by a Dwemer bust, because it just looked better! No other furniture or clutter was removed or moved.

Q. Is there a sign or plaque with each display?
A. Yes.

Q. Where did you get phrases for the signs?
A. They are quoted or paraphrased from things NPCs say in the game.

Q. Will you add displays to the Hearthfire homes?
A. Yes, these will be added in a future update. Suggestions on where to place them are encouraged.

Q. Will you add displays for other homes, too?
A. Yes, let me know where you'd like to see them.

Q. Want to hear my ideas about how to display more skulls?
A. Yes, please tell me!

Q. What will happen if I unsubscribe?
A. Your skulls will remain if you are still subscribed to All Races Drop Skulls. Skulls left on the displays will be floating in the air where the displays were. You may take them one at a time into your inventory.

Q. Will you answer other questions?
A. Sure! Please ask.

================================
6. Incompatibilities With Other Mods
================================

No known incompatibilities, but some player home mods might prevent this mod from adding the displays in some homes. Please report any incompatibilities you find.

=============
7. Known Bugs
=============

Duplicate Skulls: Like bookshelves in the game, you are able to remove individual items without opening your inventory. Also like bookshelves, items removed this way sometimes remain on the display, even though they are also added to your inventory. This results in duplicate skulls, as it results in duplicate books with bookshelves.

8. Uninstalling

Hey any chance you might be willing to make a player home for a Predator with a trophy wall. Lot of skulls in game I need to sort out. Its up to you but I have loved your mods thus far and can't wait to see what you do next.

@sp0ckrates: Right now I've just been adding mods to a very recently started game. This looks to be excellent, but I haven't tried it yet. I'll definitely endorse it once I make sure it works. I just saw your pinned thread and will write there. By the way, I've ALWAYS wanted to be able to display skulls, so I guess you must be a mind reader--LOL!:steamhappy:

Hey Sp0ckrates! I love your work on these "Skull Collecting" mods, but I was curious if you would be adding your "HUNT NPC Skulls" from Bethesda.net to either Nexusmods or here on steam. Just curious.
Thanks again for the work!

It's close to five stars. If it does eventually get there, will it be reconsidered?

WillEndowed: We decided to not develop the mod further when it wasn't popular enough to get 5 stars. However, we will add the Hearthfire homes if someone who donates to our PayPal account requests it.
