Description
This mod adds the Kitay Gorod (GUM) Department Store in Civilization V wonders. This wonder will provide the city +5 gold and +2 culture. The wonder becomes available in the Industrial age and after researching Fertilizer.

This is my first mod, and I have no previous experience in making any mods for Civ 5. My coding skills are very limited so please, do not be so harsh with any criticism.

As well, if you have any suggestions on how I can modify this or at least change what needs to be changed, feel free to mention it.

I have tested this mod only with Civ5 + Gods and Kings + BNW. If you are experiencing any issues with this mod on vanilla or one or the other expansion, please say so.

Edit: Big thanks to ceej12 for his tutorial on making a building mod for Civ5. If it wasn't for his mod, it would have taken me much longer to learn.

What I am researching (when I have time. Sorry, I got wife and a kid so I do not get that much time to play around with this), is how to make it a % base rather than just outright gold (so increase gold output by 25%) and as well add in a great merchant. I agree, most wonders have somerthing special, but at so late in the game, most specials are pretty much moot but I will look into it and see what I can come up with.

This is pretty interesting but I feel a few small things could be improved. Like the quote for most wonders doesn't directly have to do with the wonder itself, like the Effiel Tower quote is "We live to discover beauty. All else is a form of waiting,". This fits better with the tone of the game and flows nicely. Also, all WW in Civ 5 have a unique abillity along the static culture, production, food, or gold buffs, like the Pyramids improving tile improvement speed by 25%. Honestly, I know nothing about this building, so I can't suggest a unique abillity, although I do find it interesting. Everything else looks like fine work to me, thanks for creating a unique mod for Civ 5.

Amazing! I saw the GUM while I was in Russia this year. I can't help but feel that the image in the popup looks a bit dated (the one in the build screen is fine though)

I was also contemplating on not making this a wonder but a regular building for the Russian civilization. But that would probably boost Russia too much in economics.

Alright, I will see what I can do regarding that. I agree, gold yield is small, but I didn't want it to become OP. I was going to add happiness too but thought at that point, it is too much.

I would link a department-store wonder to the Replaceable Parts tech myself -- same era, relates to mass-produced items. The Gold bonus could probably use buffing too, as Krajzen already suggested; for a late-game World Wonder with only one other bonus, I'd give GUM +20% or +25% to that city's Gold yield.

Suggestion: please boost it a bit, +5 gold is very tiny amount in the industrial era. Neuschwaschtein provides much more and also comes in the same era ^^
