Luminary

Description

This mod requires Norbyte's Script Extender. Get it >>>HERE<<<[github.com].

Features:
Light Damage
Command the power of light with the new Luminary combat school! Invest points into Luminary like you would any other combat school. Each point increases the light damage you deal by 5%. Light damage scales with Intelligence and is mitigated by magic armor.

Light Resistance
NPCs will have light resistance just like they have other elemental resistances. Many consumables, such as Resist All potions, have been retrofitted to affect light resistance. A number of Luminary status effects will also improve or decrease light resistance.

New Skills
Utilize over 40 new Luminary skills with unique visual effects to change the tide of battle! Skillbooks can be purchased from Vendors in the following areas:
  • Act 1: Sophine is northwest of Lucian's shrine in Fort Joy (187, 169).
  • Act 2: Haytham is next to the town crier in Driftwood (335, 124).
  • Act 3: Nour is near other traders at the Elven temple (301, 915).
  • Act 4: Fotovo is near other traders in Arx (321, 351).

A list of all purchasable and crafted skills can be found here[docs.google.com].

New Gear
Luminary merchants will sell light damage staffs and 1-handed maces. Gear from any merchant and gear from quest rewards can roll boosts that increase Luminary and light resistance.

Chat Commands
The following commands can be entered into the chat box to adjust how Luminary functions.
  • !Luminary_StrengthOverride - Set light damage to scale with Strength.
  • !Luminary_FinesseOverride - Set light damage to scale with Finesse.
  • !Luminary_IntelligenceOverride - Set light damage to scale with Intelligence.
  • !Luminary_MagicArmorOverride - Set light damage saving throw to magic armor.
  • !Luminary_PhysicalArmorOverride - Set light damage saving throw to physical armor.
  • !Luminary_NoArmorOverride - Set light damage saving throw to ignore armor.
  • !Luminary_ConvertMainWeapon - Convert your main weapon to light damage type.
  • !Luminary_GetAllSkills - Create a bag containing all Luminary skillbooks in your inventory.
  • !Luminary_ToggleNPCUpgrades - Turn off/on the Luminary skills granted to NPCs.
You may need to enter commands in twice if you have not yet sent a message in the chat box. A confirmation message will appear in the chat box when a command is accepted.

Compatibility
Due to using the Custom Damage Types framework, Luminary relies on a heavy amount of UI modding and hit editing. This may introduce incompatibility with mods that are also editing the UI or doing large amounts of hit editing.

Special Thanks
  • Thank you Norbyte for the ongoing development of the Script Extender, without which this mod would not be possible.
  • Thank you LaughingLeader for coding advice and explanation, especially in regards to ActionScript, and for providing some excellent tools that make DOS2 modding much more enjoyable.
  • Thank you Doctor Beetus for helping test and bug report.

What a great mod! I'm starting a new game and would like to know if the mod is already compatible with Conflux? What about the Epip Encounters UI? Thanks!

Was this ever made compatible with the conflux overhaul mod? It used to mess with the damage numbers from the spells from the overhaul mod

Preamble.
I reloaded the game so many times because of "bad" mods.....
Ok. Hello 🖐️ 3 questions:

1) Don't these effects slow down the game too much?
2) NPC also receive equipment and skills?
3) I know it's a stupid question, but how about balance?)
