Description
So you are here ?
Ah.. you wanna play with cars but you lack experience.
You've come to the right place.


How to ?
  • Get a Screwdriver, a Wrench, a Lug Wrench and a Jack.
  • Ensure you've read the book associated with your car.
  • Find a car you can spare, and just start training with serenity.
  • On vehicle mechanics menu, right click any mounted part and left click on Train Mechanics button.


  • When using the awesome ModOptions, you'll have access to these options.
  • If your character does not reinstall desinstalled parts: increase the "Delay between actions".
  • You can re-try vanilla Uninstall and Install actions until they succeed.
  • You can use or not a pause at the end of all actions (e.g. when using time speed increase for a full training).
  • You can select a threshold for uninstall attempts depending on risks of breaking the part.


Tips and Tricks
  • Remember there is no need to train more than once a day (per car).
  • You can increase game speed in solo mode.
  • A mismatch between client and server with B41 Multiplayer? Follow the steps here[theindiestone.com].
  • The training can reach a stall due to pathfinding. Keep a lot of free space around the car to avoid this.
  • Broken items will be dumped. (items you uninstalled and cannot reinstall will not be. e.g. a tire will not be reinstalled nor dropped if the suspension is broken and dropped)
  • Make sure to disable re-equipment before "Train Mechanics" if you're using the Tidy Up Meister mod.

Can you please put the default for Failure Threshold to 0 (safe mode). Not many people even realize this option exists and it completely ruins cars on servers which keeps everyone from being able to use the cars to train mechanics. It also ruins the cars for that same person's later training.

Is it possible to get it working on a running save? does not work on my saved game but seems to work on a new one.

Absolutely loved this mod, made me train level 10 in mechanics super easily. Prepared a standard, sport and heavy duty vehicles and every now and then I'd train on them daily. Just make sure you got all the equipment (Jack, Lug Wrench, Wrench and Screwdriver I think) ready before starting the training so to maximize exp per vehicle.
Now with mechanics at level 10 I can finally disactivate the mod, but if I ever need it again I'll activate it.

Current way to manually skill up mechanics is very tiresome, so until TIS gets better ideas for the progression, automating those actions helps a lot :winter2019happyyul:

There are two potential improvements, but even without them the mod is very appreciated!

- Could keep track of recently uninstalled/installed part slots per vehicle for 24 hours: this would allow to resume half-interrupted training instead of starting over from hood area, and would allow to ignore the whole vehicle if there isn't a single part that would yield XP, which could be hinted with a speech bubble e.g. "I've already messed enough with this vehicle for today".

- An option to place dependency parts (tires, armor etc.) over certain encumbrance on the ground. Likely increases the complexity a little bit for an already advanced routine... could however save some bones to place tires on the floor, while uninstalling/installing the brakes/suspension, at the cost of added time.

does changing the failure threshold simply stop you from automatically removing parts that have a chance of failing and damaging?

Hey, I get errors like this when trying to load mods on the server, on the ESC -> Mods menu it has 2588598892 not found, but it has downloaded it into the mods directory. Why is this not working?

Is there a way to prevent my character from seriously injuring themselves when failing multiple times? They typically have a tire in their inventory and it puts them way above their weight limit, leading to fractures.
