Description
CHANGE NOTES: 29th August 2021
Note: Will not affect existing saves.

- Added CUP Weapons support. The player and enemy units now have access to some CUP Weapons. This does NOT create an addon dependency. The scenario detects if you have CUP Weapons installed and behaves accordingly.

- Allowed looting of dead bodies. Weapons that the player has not purchased will jam.
- Added a HUD element that displays owned/unowned/jam status of currently equipped weapon

- Added dynamically spawning enemy vehicles

- Added more types of vehicles that can spawn

- Adjusted some gear prices


- Fixed an issue where weapon crates could sometimes not be marked for Kim

- Possibly fixed an issue with the Destroy Supplies faction mission

- Fixed an issue whereby Guthrie's laptop couldn't be interacted with


Welcome to Deadzone, the new scenario by the creator of the popular scenario Supremacy. Inspired by games such as Far Cry 2, STALKER, and Arma 3's own Old Man, Deadzone seeks to give a gritty, unique and challenging experience.






Live the life of a mercenary in an Anarchic, war-torn Vietnam. Work with your mysterious new employer Murdoch to uncover the location of the man who left you for dead.



Explore the map to unlock Safehouses and visit weapon stores to expand your arsenal. Test yourself by tackling challenging strongholds.



Each playthrough is a little different, as Murdoch and faction leaders will offer different kinds of missions.



Hundreds of lines of dialogue supplement the story-telling of the campaign.



Features a dynamic soundtrack by the composer of the original soundtrack for S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of Pripyat mod MISERY, and music mods for all of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games and Fallout 3.



ACE Compatible?
No. ACE causes many problems with Deadzone. Disable it. In fact, the more addons you disable the better because they tend to screw with the game.

What DLC/Mods do I need?
S.O.G. Prairie Fire is mandatory. The game contains equipment from many official DLCs, so the more you own the better, particularly Apex and Contact.

Multiplayer?
No, Deadzone is built purely as a single player game.

How do I save?
Sleep, or do it from the pause menu. If you can't save, enable "Multiple Saves" in Arma's difficulty options. If that doesn't work, change Arma's difficulty preset to "Regular". It won't affect Deadzone because Deadzone has its own difficulty. If that doesn't work, disable all of your addons.

I can't see objectives on the map.
Unload the optional Contact DLC (you do not need to load this DLC to use content from Contact)

I found a bug.

having an issue with the gas resivoure .it wont cycle through when trying to blow it up?
Fully played through this mission again with limited mods. Played nicely and the story was great. Didn't see any "dynamically spawning enemy vehicles" at all though.

Loved how Murdoch comments on how you tackle Alpha base (3 possible choices). Good voice acting and story. Though there was more driving then shooting (more or less like Far Cry 2 lol). Wish there was more to the ending though. Also could of used with a car radio (like with SOGPF comes with) as the ambient music doesn't happen so often. Pretty great open world mission. :jake::steamthumbsup:

@Trombly - While I PERSONALLY do not use the 'fast travel', it SHOULD ALWAYS WORK!

If not, then something is 'broken'.

What you CAN do if this problem persists, you can use my mod. With it, just ALT-Left Click and BAM! You are there!

This will bypass the 'fast travel'. I usually use my spawned heli to fly to places...(also in my mod).

Do note: This 'issue' you have, MIGHT affect others parts of the mission as this has never been reported before, indicating that 'something' is wrong on your end. As such, who knows what will happen!

Using the above mod allow you to 'bypass' this bug and continue on with the game.

You could also delete the mod and re-download it and/or verify ARMA files (though it is prob not ARMA). Also note, ARMA DOES have some 'weird' bugs. This MIGHT be the reason for your issue!

Having issues with bus stops and fast travel. I played earlier today with no issues. I then came back but it loaded me in as if I was starting a new game, so I selected load profile instead of a background. Now the fast travel/bus stops don't work.

Do they only work once or should I just start a new save? For reference I am using no mods at all and only have SOG loaded as a DLC.

At least his questions are legit and show some effort being taken/done by him. A lot of people just want someone to do it for them.

@Sunbather - So you know, I have played this mission about 10-15 times, and I have only had one issue (most likely caused by me), and that was with the plane not showing up over the airfield (at times).

So, things to ponder on:

ARMA has bugs
Mods have bugs
ARMA + MODS = VERY UNPREDICTABLE RESULTS
Load order of mods MATTER (Just like with Skyrim and other games)
You're using UNSUPPORTED MODS which may be actually causing this


Action To Take/Test:

Play mission with ONLY SUPPORTED MODS
Play mission with NON-EDITED FILES (e.g., not using my 'Jam Fix')
Play mission as designed (i.e., do not do 'funky stuff')

THEN see what happens. I am about 99.99% sure, when the above is done 100%, you will not have this 'laptop bug'.

As stated, the only issue I have had, was the plane not flying over, and I am pretty sure I was doing 'funky stuff' to cause it too... ;)

I am afraid that your skills at ARMA scripting are lacking a tad. There are ONLY TWO LINES TO INSERT.

Line 1 = // Abort All Jamming Code Startups
Line 2 = if (true) exitWith {};

Line 1 is JUST A COMMENT!

Line 2 runs when this script is called. When 'whatever' runs this script, the VERY FIRST THING IT DOES IS TO EXIT!

BOTH lines are 100% 'ARMA valid'.


What you TYPE IN AT LINE 5:

// Abort All Jamming Code Startups


What you TYPE IN AT LINE 6:

if (true) exitWith {};



Somewhere along the way, you got 'lost'. This 'fix' may be beyond your skills which is no big deal. No one can do everything... And we ALL started with knowing NOTHING. ;)

It DOES WORK though when directions are followed!

@Sunbather - If you go back a tad in the posts, you can find how you can disable the 'Weapon Jamming'. I made a 'work-around' to that a good while back.

you need to buy the apex DLC
