AWP | 桜 (Sakura)

This skin was inspired by my love of traditional Japanese art, my 2 favourite subjects being the cherry tree and waves. I was first drawn to creating this for the AWP as I felt the curvature around the handgrip provided a great place to have the tree grow around it. I drew the colouration for this from a few specific examples that I really loved, the simplicity in utilising very little colours with splashes of red and pink that are then allowed to really pop against the monotone surroundings. Other than the handgrip, the barrel really enticed me and I experimented with different designs around the barrel, finally settling on having the branch wrap all the way around until it stop just before the muzzle in full view of the weapon's user. I do not speak Japanese but I still wanted to utilise the beautiful language in my skin, 桜 or Sakura in English characters is Japanese for cherry tree or cherry blossom and I made sure to give it prime placement - on the backside of the bolt as well as the side profile. The Japanese text around the scope are Japanese idioms that relate to themes of patience that I thought fit well with the role of the AWPer.

I really appreciate you checking out my skin, I put in a lot of time and effort in to this piece, it was my first foray into using drawing tablets on computer and I thrilled with the result.
