Description
I always hated grinding out Metalworking/Electricity/Mechanics every game. I liked how CDDA did their skill leveling which is by sitting in a dark corner and reading a book. This mod enables you to do that.

How does it work?

This works with all books in the game even modded ones

Each page you read will give experience rather than a multiplier. This will allow the player to level mechanic/metalworking/electrician/etc skills without the grind of removing car parts, deconstructing 1000's of tables throughout town or dismantling watches.

You can customize how fast each page takes in the options menu under the category "Mods". This will allow you to balance the mod to however you like with books.

Feel free to re-upload/edit/use my mod for anything you like. You won't need my permission

If you want an alternative mod that works, I recommend Book Consumer.

Doesn't work for me. The skill books will take extremely long to read with this mod.

So for some reason my character reads 1 page for like 15-20 minutes with this mod :/

For the record, this seems to work fine for me.

It still works, but with issues. I started a new run with Fast Reader perk and my skills are levelling up much more reliably, but you have to pay attention to the XP initially, because sometimes when you start reading a book the XP doesn't begin to accrue. The way around this is to stop reading and start again.

I don't have any other mods that affect reading afaik, but CDDA Reading was last updated in 2021 so it should be no surprise there'd be problems.

Worked for me a few hours ago. Assuming it still works.

Its likely broken because of mod incompatibilities.

Is this mod broken now? Or incompatible with slow reader?

Just got done reading four skill books, but only one skill actually ticked two levels.
