Bom dia Workshop!
Today's asset is a commission from @Bastet69! Thank you so much for supporting me! If you would like to commission me for an asset, head into my Steam DMs. You may need to add me first, I will add back.
A big change of pace! This is my first non-plains, non-US, and even non Anglo-world asset! This is a rather interesting case, in my opinion. The Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus (aka the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God) is a very new denomination of Christianity, of course being fostered by the global popularity of televangelists in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. This church was founded only in 1977 in Rio de Janeiro. It's had quite its share of controversies, but you can read the Wiki section for that. It's 3 AM here and I'm very tired.

From Wikipedia:
The Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG) (Portuguese: Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus, IURD) is an evangelical charismatic Christian denomination with its headquarters at the Temple of Solomon in São Paulo, Brazil. The church was founded in 1977 in Rio de Janeiro by Bishop Edir Macedo,[5] owner (since 1989) of the multi-billion television company RecordTV.[6]

In 1999 the UCKG claimed to have 8 million members in Brazil and was already considered a "commercial church".[7] The denomination had established temples in the United Kingdom and in Africa and India, claiming a total of more than 12 million members worldwide that year.[8][9] By 2013, the UCKG had congregations in New York City, and—according to the UCKG's website in the United States—as of 2019 had more than 300 congregations in 33 U.S. states.[10] The church supported Jair Bolsonaro for president in the 2018 Brazilian general election,[11] won by Bolsonaro.

In 2017 the UCKG faced allegations of adopting children in Portugal and taking them abroad illegally. It has also been accused of cult-like illegal activities and corruption, including money laundering,[12] charlatanism,[13][14][15] and witchcraft,[14] as well as intolerance towards other religions.[16][17] There have also been accusations that the church extracts money from poor members for the benefit of its leaders.[18] In 2000, a London-based UCKG pastor arranged an exorcism which resulted in the death of a child and the conviction of her guardians of murder.[19][20] The UCKG has been subject to bans in several African countries.

Soooo yeah... kinda funky, right? Still thought it was interesting. Here in the US we have similar cases of these megachurches brought forth by televangelists that also have their fair share of controversy. Interesting cases!

Of course, this isn't indicative of the rest of religion as a whole. Just wanted to say this because some people are dumb enough to think that I said this :P

To pretend there's some vendetta out against Western Culture and religion is just baffling to me. Maybe people have just gotten tired of Western Culture being pushed aggressively onto the rest of the world throughout history. I'm a westerner, and I'm not ashamed of it, but it just has to be understandable why some despise some portions of our culture.

But you know what? I certainly agree with you in some ways. There are so many other terrible things happening to people around the world as well, and at some point, I'll gladly "put more words" into my own mouth, and make some things highlighting rougher things. This is just one asset. This shouldn't be indicative of me as a whole, jeez.

For someone who thinks I'm quick to judge, you sure judged a lot about my character as well. Have a good day, slow down a bit!

@Dimensional One But I'm not judging western culture and religion. I never said that this is what all of Christianity is like, in fact it's nothing NEAR that. Obviously there is good in every culture. There's no reason to get so heated here. I literally just said "it's had its fair share of controversies" because, well, it has! That's kinda what makes it famous in a lot of ways. I never said something like "they have committed mass atrocities across humanity" because I don't know shit about this church. I'm an Australian-American living in America. I don't really know anything about Brazil. So, I found something interesting to talk about in the description.

That massive chunk of text in the description is from Wikipedia. They aren't my words. I was born and raised a Christian, and despite my beliefs now as far as religion goes, I know that Western Culture and Religion can be great. Every culture has its pros and cons.

@Dimensional One Lol mate calm down, this asset wasn't even my idea. I know that there are blatant atrocities committed by every group on Earth. Never said there weren't - this was commissioned by someone who's building a realistic Brazilian city, and this is pretty much a "chain" of sorts you can find around the country. Don't put words into my mouth, controversy happens. I'm not trying to do anything or be "woke" with this asset. It's a virtual building in a city builder.
