Barotrauma

Description
A descendent of the BloodLust addon, Barotrauma provides explosive levels of fun when applying high pressure differentials to human targets.

Side effects of using this mod may include, but are not limited to: vaporization, blood splatters, dismemberment, and an insatiable lust for ripping and tearing creative applications of explosives to acceptable casualties.

In an MP environment, both the client and server must have the mod loaded.

Using this mod side-by-side with another Bloodlust variant is not recommended.

Features
  • Tweaked conditions for unit vaporization, with a focus on compatability with ACE 3's medical system. Specifically, this mod addresses a game breaking issue where players/AI are "hidden" by BloodLust but aren't actually dead. (For the technically savvy: the alive state of the unit is checked prior to vaporizing a unit, meaning its health bar now matters. Units are only vaporized if they are dead/were killed by an explosion.)
  • Don't like the default behavior? Addon Options enabled by the CBA framework allows the player to customize their killing experience. Server admins can enforce settings to ensure a bloody consistent experience for everybody.
  • Signed mod for servers that have signature enforcement enabled.

What this mod does not, and will not do: blood pooling and blood sprays from gunshot wounds, dismemberment from high caliber weapons, and freeing your step sister from the washing machine.

Known Issues
  • Can't access primary weapon or inventory of person who exploded. Note that the primary weapon is often considered a part of the soldier's inventory, and the soldier itself is "hidden" after receiving a high pressure differential. (Won't fix - this is expected Arma behavior.)
  • Degraded performance in "heavy" scenarios where multiple units explode. (Won't fix - multiple options are available to tweak effects and balance performance. Note that gibbing and gib smear tend to be the heaviest on the CPU.)
  • Nothing happens in an MP environment if the server does not have the mod loaded. (Won't fix - both the client and server must have the mod loaded.)
