Heat Map (Continued)

Description
INFO:
Due to how Steam's workshop functions I cannot update the original mod without being the original author, so I decided to revive my Continued version for pushing updates.

The original version, despite being made for 1.3, still works in 1.4, but I wanted to intergrate it into the now vanilla map overlay, instead of the mod just adding its own overlay.

If you experience any issues which you assume are caused by this mod, please post a description of what's wrong as well as the HugsLib log (CTRL+F12).
That helps tremendously with figuring out any problems!

ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION:

Adds a toggle button to show a live temperature based colour gradient over indoor areas in your base. The gradient uses the familiar colour scheme of green being the midpoint for human comfort (in the game that's 22C / 71.6F), becoming deeper blue or red for colder and hotter rooms respectively.

By default, each room's temperature is also shown in small text over the room when overlay is active (this can be turned off in mod settings).

Safe to add to an existing save.

The green range is compressed more than usual, to make it easier to see when rooms are on the edge of comfort. The deepest blue and red are not mapped to the coldest and hottest possible map temperatures, as that would be useless inside a base where temperatures aren't that extreme. Instead they are bound from -12C to 56C (10.4F to 132.8F), so that you can tell from the colours what the temperature is.

You can set a different custom range in the mod settings for extreme maps. When using a custom range, there is no green compression.

The overlay is toggled with a button in the lower right. When the overlay is turned on It can be updated as the game runs.

The overlay opacity and update speed can be configured in Mod Settings dialog.

The mod also adds a thermometer widget to the top right hand corner of the UI, displaying the current outdoor temperature (shaded with the same colour scheme as the overlay). This can be disabled in Mod Settings. Clicking this widget also toggles the heat map overlay.

This mod requires HugsLib and must be loaded after it.

Temperature Widget not displaying the right outside temp.

I need some information on that.
- Where is the temperature displayed wrong, just on the widget?
- Are the room temperatures correct, both the color overlay and the small text display?
- Is the mouse-over temperature in the lower right correct, both for indoors and outdoors temperatures?
- Is there an offset, or is it wrong by a factor, for example does it always show 10° too much or 1.5x more than it should be or is it a constant wrong value? Example values are probably helpful.
- Does this happen when using either Celsius and Fahrenheit?
- Do you play on only one map, two or more?
- Is the displayed temperature the same for both players?
- Does it display the temperature of another map?
- Is it wrong for both players on every map?

I used to use this mod a lot, and recently came back to the game. I am playing in multiplayer mode and the mod doesn't show the correct temperatures (it worked in multiplayer mode when I used to play). I saw someone recently opened a discussion saying the same thing. If there's any info I can provide to help make it reproducible just let me know.

@Syrus Thank you for shining light from a modder's perspective, and making this clear and concise. I see where you're coming from, and I really appreciate you taking to time to come back to my comment. You hold some very good points, and I hope that someday people really do figure out what the reported issues are within the code, if there are any.

HugsLib is required. It's used for the mod's settings, for example. I should add that as a requirement.

I don't understand what people's problems with HugsLib is, I've not had any issues with it and neither have I seen anyone point out any actual, reproducible bugs causes by it.
My guess is either that people have some kind of mod conflict(s), which they blame on HugsLib, there's some kind of permission issue, some kind of mod update issue with steam, ... or who knows, maybe they are just trying to get people to stop using HugsLib because it's made by a Russian person.

Unless someone actually points out a reproducible issue with that library, I, in all honesty, refuse to take on the rather large amount of work required to rewrite my mods to not use HugsLib.
Please, if anyone got some information on what "the issue" with it is, enlighten me. I feel like I'm missing something here, despite keeping an eye on the HugsLib comment section.

In the original mod description it says HugsLib is required. But in this mod it shows no dependencies. Have you, by chance, removed the HugsLib dependency? :meepstarry:

I've chosen to avoid HugsLib due to the overwhelming game-breaking issues since the 1.5 update. I understand that when an update comes out it takes a long time to readjust mods, but HugsLib seems to have been broken quite a while since before 1.5

So last night asleep, I woke up having a nightmare while also getting a cramp in my calf which I felt all day, and the reason in my dream was this mod. Not sure why but glad it wasn't cause i like this one. Thanks for what you do.

Still best simple mod, showing outside temperature at a glance

Are you sure you are reporting this on the correct mod?
I see no way for that to happen from this mod, sorry.

This mod changes the style of the research benches to the steel one and when fully zoomed in, the walls fade out, not sure why
