Description:

The Mako Gunboat is the workhorse of PHI's littoral fleet, combining firepower, mobility and armour in a relatively small package, albeit at the cost of life support systems.
The defining feature of the F2 model is the 20 cm SK C/78-6, an enhanced version of the six-barreled turrets found on the Graf Spee-class heavy cruisers, now featuring improved firing angles.
Previous models used to carry their own jump drive, cryo chamber and survival kit, but those have been removed to make room for more batteries and hydrogen tanks, increasing the operational time of the Mako and further solidating its role as a littoral craft.
Further changes include slight improvements to the armour scheme and additional thrusters to counteract the added weight from the armour, but most importantly, it has modernized the docking port to the current PHI standard, allowing it to dock with all PHI carriers capable of carrying large grids.

The Mako's role however remains unchanged, as it still provides PHI-equipped fleets with great amounts of firepower at a relatively low cost, and with the modernizations it can finally take part in carrier-deployed wolfpacks of littoral craft.

Usage:
  • Role: High-speed Gunboat, Carrier airwing vessel.
  • Area of Operation: Space, moons, planetary orbit.

Other:
  • When trying to take off from a planet, make sure that the ship has a flat runway to take off from.
  • Simply point the nose up as far as it can whilst on the ground, and then accelerate both upward and forward.
  • Once you've reached a decent altitude simply point the nose straight up.
  • While not impossible when at combat load, it is significantly more risky to try and take off from a planet. You have been warned.
  • A pair of parachutes can help with any planetary landings. Be warned, as the one on the front has to be resupplied manually.
  • The reactor can be reached from underneath the turret, near the large hydrogen tank.

And that's another ship updated!
She's my favourite design by far, and one of the oldest ones I've made as well.
In fact, the turrets on the Graf Spee were originally built for the Mako.
The reason they use the same turrets is because they share the same inspiration.

Oh, yeah. I know. I figured I would adapt the moving parts per my needs (wont look as awesome, but it will represent the mouths), also I will replace any of the rotor based turrets..
This is going to be for my server and will be highly specific, but I will also try out your encounters in my own solo game as I was looking for some bad guys that look like the ships you made.

Feel free to use any of my ships. I'm fine with it as long as proper credit is given, really.
Do know that a lot of them use subgrids though. Also, I'm working with someone to make a encounter mod as well (no ETA sadly), so you could wait for that if you're willing to.

Good point. Yeah I gotta think around a bit. Can I use any of the other predator based hulls? I noticed you have a bunch of others, and I really like the aesthetics.

Sure thing! You'll likely want to remove the small grid subgrids, as I don't think those'll be useful on an AI ship and will just cause unnecessary lag.

This is the best hull design I have ever seen. I can't believe you did so much with so little.

Can I use this in a spawn mod for my server? Can I tweak? All credits given of course.
