IMPORTANT NOTE: this mod IS NOT compatible with any other fleet formation mods.
This version of the mod is not designed to work with any mods that changes a solar system's scale or changes the scale of the ship models.

General Information:
This mod is my own personal fleet formation mod for Stellaris. This mod was created with the intent to clean up the fleet formations and to provide a more cinematic view of a fleet.

I did not like the smashed together fleet formations seen in vanilla. I also found that when adding other ship size classes found in various mods, like NSC2 (*now named "NSC3 Season 1") , there was always lots of overlap/collision between the ship models.

I tried all of the other fleet formation type mods found on Steam and was never satisfied with the positioning of the ships. Either there was always collisions between the models or the ships were too spread out.

I created this mod based on the results of testing with the following ship sets:
1. "NSC2 Season 8" hull sizes (*now named "NSC3 Season 1")
2. "Kurogane 2.0" and "Kuroganes Expanded" ship set in formation
3. "Sins of the Prophets: Stellaris" ship set in formation
4. "Vanilla" ship sets in formation
5. "United Fleet Shipset" in formation

I also compared many other ship sets and different formation mods that are found on steam. This included mods like Gigastructures, NSC2 (*now named "NSC3 Season 1"), or shipsets mods with fleet spacing built in. I paid close attention to corvettes since they are spread out a little more.

**I saw no issues with battle performance.**

Ok thank you very much. Sorry for such a noob question.

below is underneath the ship mods and nsc3 in launcher - Paradox launcher loads top to bottom

so that any mod that changes ship formations is overwritten when the mods are loading. A good example in NSC3. It has its own fleet formation changes so we put the fleet formation mod below it to overwrite its built in fleet formation changes. Some shipsets also may have built in fleet changes, those are not compatible.

@Rage000 Sorry to ask the stupid question but I haven't seen it in this discussion. When you say the mod needs to be below ship sets, can you explain that please. New to this modding thing.

Is there a mod on Steam somewhere that allows you to select all fleets at once with one click, like F2 in StarCraft? Or allows you to combine multiple fleets into one automatically, without selecting each one via shift.. On Nanomachines in the middle/end of the game there are already 20-30 or more fleets, and they are generated by 8-16 ships, it is very difficult to manage such a number of fleets at the same time, selecting them each time via shift.

I am taking a look at the attack moon. You are correct that Gigastructures is set up to have the fleet spread out more when grouped with the moon. I did not see any issues with combat despite the ships being spread out more.

I also saw that if the attack moon is destroyed or if the attack moon is taken out of the fleet, the fleet stays spread out.

To restore the fleet formation you have to reform the fleet into a new one.

This means that Gigastructures is partially compatible with the Fleet Formation Mod v2 when creating a fleet with ships and an attack moon. A compatibility patch may fix it.

I am Not sure what can be done about it other than indicating that Its personal preference as to whether a more spread out fleet around the Attack Moon from the mod Gigastructures is an issue. If it is a problem then I would say not to use this mod with Gigastructures.

ok thank you for the feedback. Yes its very important that the mod is listed after all shipsets and mods that contain fleet position adjustments. It is important the mod must be on the bottom.
