What is SmoothCamera?
SmoothCamera is the MOD which improve your game practical FPS by reducing rendering quality only when a camera is moving.

In general, we are tend to feel a laggy when a camera is moving, otherwise, we couldn't recognize image quality debasement at that time.

SmoothCamera could provide you to a smooth camera operation by reducing rendering quality for a temprary period of time only when a moving.

How efficient?
It depends on your environment. (Machine power, scale of your city, number of mod/asset)
If your city has a margin for image quality debasement by default option setting (Shadow quality or Detail of object), you can expect to improve a FPS.

Limitation
This mod could be an compatible issue with other camera MOD. I confirm Camera positions utility mod has a compatible.

There is a possibility to have an any issue with Ultimate level of detail mod. Set all parameters to 'Game default'

This mod patches CameraController.UpdateCurrentPosition function by using Harmony library. So if other mod also patches this function, this mod couldn't work toghter.

@MrJaMan I've never even use this mod but that still happen to me recently. So I don't think this mod is the culprit.

This mod sounds like a great idea but it literally does nothing. No quantitative difference in fps with the mod on or off in my 100k+ city when moving the camera.

That's a shame...
But note that, this mod doesn't touch your save data at all. So in theory, it couldn't destroy your save file.

This mod generally improves your fps even if GPU is under 100% usage although it depends on your environment.

Is the default quality for when its moving as surely it needs to be less quality when moving or there is no point. Also as you say it is not compatible with first person camera mod but if they are both enabled in content manager but i am not using first person at the time in game and using the vanilla in game does it work?

my cheap gpu isn't at 100% usage yet I get way less frame drop when moving the camera thanks to the mod. It makes a difference on my system so probably many other as well :)
