Unique Trait: First-Born Colonies
You and your partner train Settler Units 10% faster for having an Open Borders arrangement (up to 100%). Harbours and Seaports constructed in cities on a foreign continent expand city borders and grant a free Worker Unit.

Unique Unit: Regio Esercito
The Regio Esercito is Italy's unique Rifleman replacement. It begins with a different Promotion depending on where it is trained. Training a Regio Esercito in a city on your home continent (the continent where your Capital is located) will confer the March Promotion, allowing it to heal every turn, even when performing an action. On the other hand, training a Regio Esercito in a city on a foreign continent will confer the Blitz promotion, allowing it to attack twice in one turn. Regio Esercito trained in your home cities will excel at travelling long distances, whilst ones trained in your distant colonies will push the borders of your empire quickly. Choose whichever is best suited to your needs.

Unique Unit: Caio Duilio Class
The Caio Duilio Class is the unique Ironclad replacement for Italy under Umberto I. Requiring twice as much Coal to build but half as much Production, the Caio Duilio Class has a powerful (50%) bonus when fighting against other Ironclads. Provided you have the coal to spare, Caio Duilio Class can easily be fielded to secure dominance over your coastlines.
