Union Pacific 4-6-6-4 "Challenger" Locomotive (Engine)

Description
!This is the engine component for my UP Challenger!

#info

This is a "Challenger" 4-6-6-4 locomotive built by Union Pacific. The challenger was built by ALCO (American Locomotive Company) from 1936 to 1944 with a total of 105 being built. The challenger was very powerful, being able to haul long trains through steep mountain grades while maintaining high speeds, and is sometimes known as the little brother of UP's larger "Big Boy" class steam locomotives. At a total weight of 1,073,900 lb (487,100 kg), the challenger was a beast of an engine for its time. Only two of the original 105 challengers originally built survive today, #3977 and #3985.

This locomotive is numbered #4710, it is fictional as far as I know.

#operation

When the locomotive and tender are both spawned and lined up together, the large magnet should link them. If you are not using a mission or modified bench to spawn the locomotive, you will have to use the small amount of coal and water on board the locomotive in order to drive out of the shed and make room for the tender.

Once the magnet connects the two pieces, look up at the face of the tender, there are 2 hoses, use them to connect the hose anchors on the locomotive and tender together. This is essential in order for the locomotive to get new water once the boiler has drained its spawn water.

Use the ladder on the tender to enter the cab, open the firebox and fill it with coal, then press the "ignite" button and set the damper throttle to 100%. Once the fire is going, set the damper to 56-60%. Now look to the left, turn on the injector and set its throttle to 50%. You can raise it temporarily to help pressure rise once the locomotive is warm.

Now that the locomotive is ready to boil water, set the heat flow throttle to 100%, watch the gauges until you see stabilization and hear the turbines spin up.

Now the locomotive is ready to operate, throttle up to about 35% and it should begin to move. The brake and reverser are in front of the driver seat.

There is also a whistle valve to the left of the driver seat, it lets a bit of steam out of the makeshift whistle on the boiler. feel free to add a fog horn or anything else to make it sound.

To shut down the locomotive, simply set the heat flow throttle to 0% and the damper to 0%, and then turn off the injector once the boiler has cooled.

#specifications

This locomotive contains 6 steam turbines and one boiler, as well as a large firebox, meaning the coal will have to be refilled often.

Max speed is around 40 meters per second.

This locomotive can pull loads with a mass of ~90,000 and maintain 8-9 meters per second, and higher than 90,000 mass and the locomotive will struggle.

There is roughly 700 coal and 68,000 liters of water on board the tender. More than enough for the locomotive to reach the arctic, even while pulling a small-medium load.

make sure you are using the tender and that the hoses from the tender are connected to the engine. once this is done turn the injector toggle button on and set the flow valve to 53%.
