This mod is meant to improve certain aspects of the Imperator Augustus campaign, the primary changes are:
  • Antony and Cleopatra start out married. (it's a little anachronistic for the start date, but it's more immersive I think)

  • Cleopatra is now Immortal. (I think this was an oversight when CA added female generals, because she is arguably more important than Lepidus and Sextus Pompey, and they are immortal)

  • Fixed a bug where Octavian's starting admiral has an Imperial Era Evocati bodyguard, and gave him a starting date appropriate Veteran Legionaries bodyguard.

  • Major overhaul to the auxiliaries available in the IA campaign. (more details below)


AUXILIARY CHANGES

The situation with the auxiliaries in the Imperator Augustus campaign is very odd and inconsistent. A lot of provinces and/or regions don't have access to auxiliaries. A particularly bad example of this is that the Auxiliary Cretan Archers are only available in Athens, but not in Crete itself! Cretan Archers were a very common auxiliary unit in Late Republic Roman armies, so with this particular unit, I have made them available in all of Achaia (Greece), AND in Macedonia. There are several examples of other units only being able available in one region of a province, so I made those units available in all regions of those provinces.

Other provinces had inconsistencies with different auxiliaries being available in different regions within the same province, so I made some logical changes to make it so that whatever region of a province you build your Auxiliary Barracks in, you will have access to the same pool of auxiliaries, (Empire Divided Auxiliary recruitment is set up this way). Some provinces had seemingly wrong auxiliaries in them, such as Scythians in Sarmatia, but Sarmatians in Germania, so in this case I removed the Sarmatians from Germania (and added Germanic Auxiliaries there), and then switched out the Scythians for Sarmatians in Sarmatia.

Certain provinces just had no unique auxiliaries at all, so I added logical auxiliaries to them (with the exception of the Italian Provinces), such as Gallic Auxiliaries in Narbonensis, Iberians in Baetica, Numidians in the Africa Province. Also I greatly expanded where African Elephant Auxiliaries are available, and slightly expanded where Indian Elephant Auxiliaries are available. I used the Empire Divided Elephant Auxiliary distribution as an example and guide for where to expand them to. For African Elephants they are now also available in Mauretania, Numidia, and Africa, and Indian Elephants are now also available in Transoxania. In general I used the Empire Divided auxiliaries as an example for various changes, so now the Imperator Augustus auxiliary availability is a lot like Empire Divided, but still using the same auxiliaries as vanilla Imperator Augustus (and the Grand Campaign).

Ultimately this ADDS a lot to the auxiliary availability, and doesn't really take anything away from the vanilla experience.


COMPATIBILITY

This mod won't be compatible with other mods that alter the startpos of the Imperator Augustus Campaign unfortunately. Other than that, I tried to keep it as compatible as possible.

I have an idea for playing celts with the reskin you did for galatians units waiting the gallic reskin : is it possible make a temporally mod expansion for all celtic factions ? Because i noticed your reskin of galatians units works with others mods expansion units of galatians for others factions : Pontic and Seleucids.

In short : possible to make Gallic units expansion with just galatians legionnaries and galatians guards for all celtic factions waiting the reskin of gallics ?

Can you make a four turn per year mod for the main campaign. The current one in the mod selection doesn't work anymore.

@portalnerd - Sorry it took so long, I had kinda forgotten because I've been busy making some other mods.

I wish they had made them able to die from old age at least. Immortal characters should only be able to live until like 85, or the age they died at (if from natural causes and past 60-65), imo.

Thanks, I appreciate it. IMO they shouldn't have made the characters immortal at 4 TPY, it's incredibly amusing if you don't play aggressively against the other Roman factions to see Mark Antony alive at 10 BC.
