Atomic Steam Train Prototype 8-8-0 "Maisy Gargant"

A special prototype steam train powered by it's own onboard atomic reactor! That's right, this big lady's got a heart of uranium and the infinite range that comes with it!

Operation is as simple as it comes-turn the key to activate the reactor, disengage the brakes and you're good to go! The reactor and boiler is fully self regulating, not needing any input though it should be noted that it IS a prototype-I'm still getting used to the turbines and it only generates about 100 power with the generator at full. While this is easily enough to run for a good amount of time flat out, it will drain batteries over an extended running time. For this reason, it is recommended that you cruise at 40% throttle, as this is just enough for it to re-charge while it runs. The crawler gear can be used for manouvering at much lower speed but keep in mind, she is extremely torque-y and will jump off the block even with the reduced gear-gentle manouvers are the way to go here!

With no cargo, flat out it'll manage 120~ mph, cruising at around 90 mph. With cargo in testing it was capable of 110mph at full sprint but only around 50 loaded.

Feel free to use it to either learn how to make your own or directly as a base for your own improvements or mods, though I do ask that if you do so, link me what you've made with it, I'd love to see what you do with it and this is certainly a concept with room to grow!

And, as you might expect, the prototype bit is very true here-I intend to work on a fully self supporting version able to go flat out forever, so keep an eye out for that at some point in the hopefully near future!
