Description
SS Australis by RoomMic

Traveling the migrant run with style

The SS America ( available here ) was sold to Chandris Lines of Greece in 1964. She was extensively renovated, with additions like more cabins, modern facilities, and a pool/bar on the aft decks. For the next 14 years, she would server the migrant trade from England to Australia, which was governmeent subsidized. The ship sailed around the Cape of Good Hope regularly after the Suez Crisis closed the canal in 1967. The ship was taken out of service after the subsidies ended, and sold off. She went through many owners throughout the 1980s until she became the American Star in 1994.

She was wrecked off Fuerteventura in 1994 as the SS American Star ( available here ).

This is a large ocean liner. Modern ships like these crossed the Atlantic from the 1920s to the 1960s, and served in other roles until the 1980s. The premier ocean liner for C:S!

Note that this ship is quite large, coming in at 723 feet (220 M). It's also pretty large in the tri department as well.

Amazing asset! Thank you for making this. Quick question, would you be able to kindly direct me to where you found those warehouse dock buildings in the 11th and 12th screenshot? Thanks!

Does anybody else have issues with custom cruise ships? Mine can arrive, but cannot leave the harbour? It just cycles through each ship (appearing / disappearing) until it gets to a vanilla ship, which can leave. Anyone have any idea why that is?

@tonycoolbek thanks for all the praise! It’s not too hard of a job to do a repaint, just don’t know when i’ll do it

That would be awesome if you could, its kind of like the American star weck blue hall and the oceanliner version's red funnel tops and the blue funnels minus the xs^^

but I understand this must have been a massive project with further repaints not though off and hey I'm BEYOND super happy to just have one version let alone two plus a reck version!

So if this is all we get I'd still be really happy.

This is one heck of an asset, and it might not have all the different schemes the ship ever had nor be light on tris, but the fact we have such an iconic ocean liner in the game for our cims of such high quality is a testament to your hard work and I think I speak for many of us in the workshop lovers community that we are truly beyond thankful to just have something this good for our game.

Thank you so much for posting these amazing ship assets :)

Oh wow, there's a repaint version too awesome!!! :D
Hmm I looked on wiki and there was a version of this ship with a blue haul and blue funnels, would it be possible to add that repaint as well?

A fleet of these in their different skins is going to look awesome! :D

@Rooster thanks, I agree, it is a nice color. fun fact, Chandris originally painted it all white, but that got rusty too quickly so the did an emergency repaint to this color
