GPC-00y-2 "Questing Beast" Walker

Description
Gressorial Positioning Crawler, Prototype Model 2 "Questing Beast"

[Vanilla, +DLC, Scripts required, Creative-use]

My second and much more ambitious walker design, the Questing Beast was developed to be faster and more manoeuvrable than the Ambler, and features both accelerated limb movements and a longer gait to accomplish this. In order to keep the prototype small, the number of legs were reduced to four, requiring a second overridden gyroscope to maintain balance but freeing up space for the legs' inline step cycle. Each leg also features a piston, designed to further extend contact with the ground during a stride by pushing the foot outward on the backward stroke. Together, these lend the Questing Beast a top speed of nearly 2 M/S-- over three times faster than the Ambler*!-- while still leaving the mech responsive and well-balanced. Furthermore, the default control setup includes a reverse feature, providing additional mobility.

Power is provided by a single battery and an auxiliary power reactor, the former of which is held low to lower the centre of mass. The cockpit is open, but still features a protective windscreen and bumper bars on the sides-- and, if need be, the onboard remote control lets one tele-operate the Questing Beast.

Overall, there still isn't much of a purpose to this mech, beyond, well, walking-- but thanks to its smaller size and greater speed, as well as the remote control, I suppose it could make for an impromptu scout or something.

*utilising the new top speed of the Ambler, rather than its initial top speed.

Initially, I was just going to make a simple inline quad, but the walk cycle was kind of off and didn't offer a very nice neutral standing position. Therefore, I ended up adding the pistons to smooth out the stride, which also extended said stride. Rather than the pure caution paint of the Ambler, i also figured I'd be more conservative, and simply apply some black and yellow stripes and markings to identify moving parts. I'm pretty happy with it!
