Low Altitude Assault Transport/Infantry (LAAT/i) Mk. I

Description
Update (06.09.15)

Considering the plethora of new functions and blocks added to the game and the reallocation of my desktop from the US to Europe, I would like to inform my subscribers that I am working on a new and improved Mk. II variant of my LAAT/i. I will not directly mention what the biggest feature is going to be for this Mk. II variant, but I will say that it isn't static anymore ;)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update (15.05.14)

Remodeled:
-Wings
-Chassis

Added:
-More thrusters
-More gyroscopes
-Functional side turrets (not practical :/)

The old model is still in the world so you can compare and see where the changes were made :)

WARNING: The world is a bit of a load because I unwantingly made it with 16 large asteroids ( * _*)
SOLUTION: You can copy a ship (in this case the LAAT) with ctrl + c, load a new [small] world and place it there with ctrl + v; ctrl + x deletes ships. (Tip courtesy of Akaviri13)

Hey there everyone, this is my first ever Space Engineers build. I have bought the game a few days ago and sinked about 30 hours into this project, about 30% of those hours consisted of tweaking and remodeling.

I would also like to say that my initial inspiration for this build was Aaron74's Republic Gunship (link will be provided below). I remember seeing a showcase of it his YouTube channel "LastStandGamers" and just sitting there in awe thinking "that's so cool, I want to build something like that!" Of course the LAAT is one of my all time favorite Star Wars ships so that doubled my enthusiasm on top of the fact that Aaron74 had already built it in this great game!

All armaments are in their rightful places and I have tried to make it as too scale as possible.

The LAAT passed thruster damage tests! It took a while but I think I got the engine layouts just right. I have test flown this a few times and believe that there might be some room for improvement when it comes to the maneuverability and engine placement so let me know in the comments what your suggestions would be! :)

If you click "k" while being seated as a pilot you will see that I labeled a few things (forgive me for the clutter, it was organised but the game mixed it up after I logged off and back on again).

The world includes the ship parked on a "refueling" platform with a control tower and a medical station.

I would also like to credit a thumbnail tutorial by Wiggen. Without it I would have never have figured out how to actually publish this workshop with the proper thumbnail.

Check out Wiggen's thumbnail tutorial:

Also, make sure to check out my LAAT/c. It is the carrier edition of the LAAT. I couldn't work out a good clamp system yet, but it can easily transport cargo and things of similair nature. Here's the link:

ENJOY!

Are the side turrets falling off for everyone or for just me?

Hey guys! Have any suggestions to improve the craft after all of these new updates?

I have made a new thread in the "discussion" section above titled "Subscriber Input." I ask that you please check it out and post your suggestions there :)

@jamwazhaha, thank you for bringing this issue up :) I'll do some research on the issue and see what I can do, however, I cannot guarantee a quick fix due to me being a bit occupid with more pressing issues :/ I ask for your patience and when it gets resolved I hope you enjoy the model :)
