Kaiserredux Anime Mod: Moeredux

Currently up to date with Hearts of Iron 4 version 1.16.* and Kaiserredux "El Momento de la Verdad Hotfix"

This mod is STANDALONE from the Kaiserreich Anime Mod: Moereich! Do NOT have this mod and Moereich active at the same time!
Furthermore, the information of Kaiserredux should be iterated here: Do NOT run Kaiserreich and Kaiserredux at the same time!



Moeredux is an anime submod for Kaiserredux that seeks to replace every in-game portrait with an anime counterpart and still stick to the spirit of Kaiserredux with nearly five thousand portraits, hundreds of event pictures, an updated and non-intrusive UI, new unit voices, and much more!

Moeredux should NOT change your checksum, as it is a graphics and sound only submod. Save files made when Moeredux was turned off will still work, and vice versa!

☑ Reworking rosters for "out of date" countries so they fit current MX standards.
☑ Adding in further event pictures and national focus GFX.
☑ Finishing remaining superevents.

In the far-flung future, we're hoping to do the following:

☑ Continuously updating portraits to be of a high standard.
☑ Replacing all applicable event graphics
☑ Filling out the rest of the ministers

Q: Help, the images aren't loading! What is happening?
A: Very often, what causes a graphical mod like Moeredux to not work is either your Kaiserredux or Moeredux mod files not being updated, or you are using another graphical mod that interferes with Moeredux. First, please verify your cache in order to make sure all of your mod files are updated to their latest versions. Second, if the problems persist, then please turn off any other graphical change mods that you might have turned on. If the issue remains, feel free to make a comment explaining your issue.

Q: Does this work with the Git version of Kaiserredux?
A: It will to an extent. Anything new that the Git has added, such as portrait renames or new portraits, will not be moefied, but everything else will be. I only update Moeredux for Steam version updates, so if you want those portraits to be moefied you'll either have to play the Steam version of KX or wait for this mod to update when KX does.

Q: What about multiplayer and save game compatibility?
A: Moeredux is a graphics only mod that will never break a save game nor will it cause sync issues, beyond HOI4's usual antics, in multiplayer.

Q: Will this mod still run if Kaiserredux or HOI4 updates?
A: Since Moeredux doesn't alter any gameplay, events or history files, it'll always run if you don't mind seeing a few of Kaiserredux's isekai protagonists stellar portraits.

Q: What should I do if I find a glitch, portrait error or some other issue?
A: Please put it into the bug report discussion box or join the Project Moe discord and discuss the problem in the appropriate channel. I am most likely NOT going to see any comments about bug reports, so please use those methods should you wish to report any errors or glitches.

Q: Can I get the source for [art x]?
A: Please join the Project Moe Discord server if you want sources on images. Requests made on Steam will be ignored, the comments section is for feedback only.

Q: Is there a list with sources for all portraits in the mod?
A: No because there's 4000+ portraits in the mod and maintaining a gallery like that would be impossible.

Q: Can I have the loading screens?
A: Take a look at this.[docs.google.com]

Q: Can I use your assets for my own mod?
A: This mod itself was built using assets from another mod, Moereich, and there's a differentiation between work for that mod that I used with permission and work that I made myself. You are free to ask me if you want to use any assets I made myself, but I will tell you if certain assets were made by the Moereich Team instead and you will need to get your permission from them.

Q: Are you going to do anime versions for other major mods?
A: The other anime portrait mod I've made is Equestria Shoujo, and I plan on simply updating that and Moeredux at the moment instead of starting any new projects.

Q: Can I help you guys out in any way?
A: Your feedback and support is all we ask for! If you have any specific ideas for the mod, please leave them in the suggestion sticky or head to our Discord. We'll never take any donations of any kind though and will thus never operate a Patreon or similar service. Q: Will you change the male names in the mod to be female?
A: No, because like any gameplay changes that'd break multiplayer compatibility and force everyone to have our mod running just to play with friends. The in-universe excuse is that this is like Fate/Stay Night and that dudes are magical anime girls because magic/reasons and no one should bat an eye about it.
