Renualt Evolution 2021 - Blitz Graphics Entry

This was the design I entered into the Renault Trucks Evolution Competition. This skin works on the sleeper and high sleeper cabs.

About the design (Why I made what I made.):
I wanted to create something which would represent the brand and its values. While incorporating something new. With the launch of the Evolution range, it is essentially the dawn of a new era at Renault Trucks. The vehicles are designed to be the most advanced and driver friendly they have ever been. I believe that my design communicates this.

My design takes inspiration from past Renault truck designs by incorporating the diamond logo. It has been included to reflect the company’s strong heritage and commitment to industry. The large logo’s also make the trucks instantly recognisable from a distance. Placement of the logo has been most deliberate, ensuring that the diamonds point forward. A subtle hint at Renault Trucks commitment to the future and progress never moving backwards.

The shards or triangles are an abstracted representation of the team at Renault Trucks breaking the bounds and bringing in a new era of truck. Not only for the company but for the entire trucking industry. The overall design can even be seen as an abstracted camouflage relating back to Renaults pivotal role in the first world war. The design is asymmetric to create a more dynamic design while being unique. Recognition and recall was a key part of my design, hence why I wanted to ensure that no matter from which side or how far you are away from the truck the brand would be visible and recognisable.

Blue and white have been chosen as they stand out from past Renault Truck designs. Renault Trucks have used blue and white in the past, but these shades are unique and are sure to stand out from other manufacturers. Red and blue are also seen as opposites, in a way complimenting the Renault Boss design. I have also incorporated a smaller diamond logo pattern onto the truck in a very light shade of blue. Making the design a little more elegant and refined, while adding that 'wow' factor when you begin to see the smaller details of the design on the truck.

Lastly, with the large focus on driver comfort and the current pandemic, the world has never depended on truck drives as much as now. For this reason, I wanted to include the “Drivers are heroes” slogan into my design. A sign of respect and appreciation for those who spend there lives on the road, to make our lives easier.
