CIMFreight Elevated Rail & Docks
13 items
Description
This is a pack of 2 slim elevated freight stations.

Each one is only 3 units wide to be able to fit into the smallest of areas, perfect for bringing in cargo to dense commercial areas.

One station is a terminus while the other allows trains to pass through the station.

They are designed to be fully modular and able to be stacked together, you can bring as many lines as you want into a single location.

Cargo trucks can access both ends of each station making traffic management easier.

3 of the stations take up the same build area as a single vanilla cargo station.

The tracks are elevated above the road level so there isn't any need for level crossings or bridges.

These stations are ideal for transferring external cargo onto an internal cargo network.

Both stations share the same texture files to limit the load on your system if you are using the highly recommended Loading Screen Mod

An Anarchy mod is recommended to help place these close to each other.

Want to connect your cargo rail to the waterways? You can now with this matching dock building and the Barges mod by Bloody Penguin.

The station track is a little too long; therefore, trains can't find paths sometimes. I recommend to shorten the track to ~176m (vanilla cargo station length) with Move It.

Ok I've tested this. Using both CIMF through and CIMF End. I have not seen any trains 'spawn'. Trains will go in and sometimes take the freight out, but so far I haven't seen any trains actually spawn to go out.
So I suppose using these alone are not going to work well. You'll need the other freight stations to 'spawn' trains. Also I do not recommend using these for inter-city (To and from away), only inner-city rail networks.

@Claudius Aetius - Do you mean for the external inter-city freight? I have only been using the CIMF's for internal lines, mostly in commercial areas. I don't see why not, but it would be good to test it. I'll switch one of my external "To and From Away" terminals and see what happens.

Hi I like very much your work, but I have a question: can I use only one of the units as a cargo station for all city? I'm doing that, but it seems no train arrived, despite the fact truck are loading stuff to export in it...

@gunslinger (Been away a few months) I haven't really played with this station in the snow environment yet, so that may be an issue. I'll watch for that and see if I have the same problem. I have been playing my Train Empire city "Locomotiville" and have been using this freight station a lot with no problems. I mostly use the through-station, but do have a couple end-stations. Even though it fits on a 3-wide, I tend to leave 1-tile on each side anyways. Put in trees or something, or pedestrian/bike pathways.

But yes, maybe I'll play my winter city for awhile just to test this possible snow issue out.

I had an issue with this. It seemed to work for awhile but then trucks would enter the station and get "stuck" inside and never return to their buildings. The stuck trucks weren't despawning for some reason, causing industry buildings to run out of trucks and stop working. After I demolished the station all the "stuck" trucks started spawning where the station was and returned to their buildings.

I'm having problems getting the 2-way station to export goods. I have it connected to your harbor station.

Harbor unloads the ship, loaded trucks enter one side of the rail station, then leave the other side empty, but no train is spawned.

@admiral8q no, that isnt it.
http://www.nightflame.info/img/cimfreight.png - looks like the snow wouldnt stay on the roof and just drop down to ground level...

@Musharaf If you hook up a one-way road to both ends, it works fine as a one-way on the interior. I do this sometimes.

Of all the freight-train assets, this is by far my favourite for using in commercial areas. Nice and slick. :)
