El Aisi Harbor

Description
Welcme to El Aisi Harbor - the industrial world is yours to take!

This is a completely vanilla map waiting for your booming harbor city!

May 6th - Updated the map according to some notes from BonBonB - the shipping routes now actually go into the harbor area - removed trees from the desert, added ore etc. It´s still very much a simple map.

El Aisi Harbor is a mostly flat area map that has plenty of oil and fertile land - ore is now also available.

There are only about 150 000 trees / bushes around.

My maps are meant for easy playing without too many props etc used. There´s usually quite a lot of flat space for building due to the fact that I think not everyone is looking for a massively challenging environment or real life like maps to play with - even if I do understand the fascination for those kinds of maps as well - to each their own :)

Connections that can be found are as follows:

Highway: 3
Rail: 1
Flight: 2
Ship: 4

I only used vanilla roads and assets on this map, but naturally you are free to upgrade as you please. I do recommend using some of the tropical map themes though, I think that plain vanilla theme is a bit too bright for my taste. Also a LUT would be a nice addition - one of the "realistic" ones would be my choice.

The map consists of about 50% of buildable area, although not all of it is just flat. There is quite a large area however that is completely flat, to make building more easy, at least in the beginning.

As this is only my third map (after Harris Island, and El Aisi Valley, I still have a long way to go if I want to have the honor of even mentioning the following idols´ names out loud.. So again a massive thank you to BonBonB, TwoDollarsTwenty, KRX, Mr. Maison, Pdelmo and Fluxtrance (just to name a few) for hours of inspirational videos, tutorials and commentaries. I am eternally grateful!

Just wanted to say thanks for your hard work, I'm going to start a city on your map now.
I like the look of it, and although i run a few mods, i'm curious as to how this will all turn out.
Cheers!!

@bobfahre - thank you very much for your kind words, I am really glad to hear you appreciate my effort. As mentioned, I don´t by any mean call myself a "map creator", but I wanted to give vanilla players something to work with - sometimes I think we concentrate too much on mods and assets, even if they are amazing and awesome and make the game so much different. But in my opinion, sometimes, and I do mean sometimes, less is more :steamhappy:

2/2 ...

to be thankful for.

I probably won't play this map anyway, because somehow it doesn't really appeal to me personally. But that's not the point here. The point is that you invest work in your free time so that we all can have fun and that you do it well.

Hello EDH0904,

I come here from BonBonB's comments because I don't have a Youtube account.

I just wanted to tell you how cool I think it is that you make maps for people who don't want to or can't throw mods and assets and stuff at their PC.

And especially I wanted to tell you how great I think it is that you took the suggestions from BonBonB's video and implemented them immediately. Map creators who update their maps are what we need. The shipping routes into the cut out ports is what makes this a really good vanilla map (just a suggestion, you might want to add a screenshot with the shipping routes above in the Steam images). I would still make important improvements with my few mods and assets from my point of view (mainly the roads), but I can. And you're giving it to me completely free. That's something ... 1/2

It´s not about detailing, it´s about what makes YOU like your city! I am definitely not a detailer either, but that´s not important, it´s how your city makes you feel - no matter how many props you use :steamhappy:

I'm not that great, definitely not a detailer, but yeah for sure :)
I'm trying it with Owl's Los Angeles Theme
