Description

GOM - Dieselpunk Locomotive

A Dieselpunk Locomotive made to haul

Mass: 11.424
Fuel Capacity: 14.312.5l

Length: 23.5 m

Top speed (locomotive only): 210km/h
Highest tested speed (locomotive + 12 empty double container waggons): 350km/h

Cost: 100.970$

Still WIP but mostly finished and awaiting the coal/steam update

Features:
Supercharged 5x5 8 cylinder engine, able to pull a 315m long train with 16 tanker cars at 144kl each, for a total of ~2.3mil liters and over 530k mass at 260km/h.

Autopilot that comes with preprogrammed routes and ability to set up your own waypoints, so you can make your way to the arctic as comfortable as possible.

Traction control, to always stay within 2-5% of the maximum possible traction

Cargo Info Panel, will display information about current/maximum cargo capacities for fluid, container, passenger and coal cars, as well as the current net/gross mass and train length.

Mag-All Anchors to prevent the train from moving during storms.

Automatic temperature control in the rear part down the stairs.

Refueling ports on both sides near the frontal big wheels.

Electrical connector to recharge other vehicles can be found near the cabin access ladder.

Operation:

Starting
Get into the engine room, if needed turn on the lights at the bottom of the central panel with the three throttle levers.
At the right panel side flip all three breakers and turn on the ECM
At the left panel side activate the engine heater, the light will indicate if the temperature guard is active and keeping the engine temperature between 6-10°
At the central panel pump both levers to prime the main diesel pumps A and B, until both dials above the levers display a pressure of 700+
Move the centermost lever all the way up to start the air pump and wait until engine RPS moves above 2.
The levers will move down and diesel pump pressure will fall, indicating a running and operational engine.

Moving
Disengage the brake by pulling the brake lever down
Deactivate the Mag-All Anchor

The RPS lever to the right side of the helm works as follows:
RPS set to 2= Clutch disengaged, engine in idle mode
RPS set between 2-3= low speed fit for coupling or pushing waggons
RPS set between 3-4= medium speed below 50km/h
RPS set between 4-5= high speed, between ~70-90km/h
RPS set to 5= maximum tractive effort, engine will move as fast as possible

Setting RPS to 5 should be done once the train is already moving and is the preferred mode with bigger trains, to maximize speed. With how trains are working currently, the train can be significantly faster the more waggons you add.

Coupling
To engage the large connector simply activate the button on the lefthand side of the train, behind the cabin access ladder.

Autopilot
Preprogrammed routes should be selected at either of the following terminals:
Spycakes, Camodo, North Harbor, Donkk Fishing Village

There are currently 12 pre programmed routes between the mentioned stations.

Make sure to set the train to reverse gear if needed, before activating the autopilot.

Manually programming the autopilot should be rather straightforward, you enter the edit mode by pushing the respective button, set desired waypoint RPS with the keypad in the lower right, select the track switch if you want the track near the waypoint to switch and click on the monitor to select a coordinate and push "add" to add the coordinate as a waypoint. You can also use waypoints placed by the game map using "set waypoint", if you activate the "use keyboard coordinates" button next to the large keyboard. Make sure to refresh the coordinates with the keyboard accordingly before adding them using the "add" button.

Generator
When the engine is in idle mode, the generator can be used to recharge other electrical vehicles by connecting them to the cable anchor next to the cabin access ladder.

Make an auto start button in the cockpit

You might need to align the vehicle to be above the train tracks upon spawning, some of the new arid island train stations have misaligned spawn locations (FJ warner etc.)

Just spawned it at mauve train yard and was driving just fine:

Note that the large wheels are decorative only and are not touching the ground on purpose, otherwise it would impact the performance of the train and cause constant collision damage+noise.
