Iconian's happiness mod

Description
HAPPINESS: Now cities are generally happier, and penalties for unhappiness have been reduced. You can now have a lot more people/cities before your happiness really starts hurting, and even then it won't hurt as much unless you REALLY overdo it.

I made this mod because my first mod changed enough things that I figured some people might prefer to pick and choose which parts to use. This is now my third mod. If you have any problems or comments please tell me.

If this mod sounds useful to you, you may enjoy my larger mod Fantastic Ancients, which brings together elements from this mod as well as most of my others and then expands far upon it all: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2827097612&searchtext=

I've never been interested in disabling the happiness system myself, but here's a mod that claims to do that: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=178926698

coming to you from 2023, fixing to add this mod but was curious if there was a way mod it to where happiness was removed entirely from the game? thank you!

Nerzox: It's been some time since I played much Civ 5, so I can't remember for certain what everything does.

Unhappiness per population to 0.4
Unhappiness per city to 0.3,
Unhappiness per captured city to 3
When your overall happiness goes into the negative, there's a growth penalty of 20% (normally 75% I think?)
When your happiness goes below -10, the growth penalty goes to 95% (I believe it was 100% before).

Hey Iconian, interested in this revamp love the idea of a new system for happiness. What or how does this mod work can you provide more details?

Yeah, I couldn't find any happiness mods I liked, thus this one. There were a bunch of changes I wanted to make with mods, but I had to settle for the most important ones. Ironically I haven't even had much chance to use the mods I made. Maybe I should play with it a bit. Glad you enjoyed my mods though :)

Coool im glad to of been a help in a small way. interest or not I personal find your mods great. your scout one is a most for all future play through. great mod its really needed . the other happyiness mods that currently work have to do with handicap. I believe, which i also dont think effects the AI which if true I dont find ideal.

After some testing I figured out why I couldn't find this mod, and I changed it to give 1 unhappiness per population and 1 unhappiness per city. I thought that Civ 5 allows decimals for happiness. I know that the game has a default unhappiness per occupied population of 1.34, so I figured it would be fine with me putting 0.3 or 0.4. Maybe it has to be a value over 1? I also originally had a much larger mod with a completely different solution to the whole happiness system planned out, but there didn't seem to be much interest in my mods.

Thank you for your comment though--I also discovered that one of my other mods wasn't working, which I've now fixed.

ive been messing around with it in notepad. I normal use another mod that does a similar thing as this but this felt like a cleaner more compatible code. seems like a simple streamline way to change the global happiness for me and the AI. everything seems to work great but i dont think it can accept anything number in the tenth place. for me it has just came up as 0 negative unhappiness modifier. basically making it impossible to get any unhappiness.

Thank you very much for asking me. After a little investigating, I can't even find evidence that I ever created this mod, though I thought I had. I'm looking in Modbuddy and it isn't even in there, and even though it says that I'm subscribed to it, Civ 5 has no evidence of that. Did you subscribe to the mod? If so, does it appear in your mod list? Civ 5 should put your mods in Documents>My Games>Sid Meier's Civilization 5>MODS.

I'm going to keep looking into this, but I may have to recreate this mod or something. I can tell you that if you download my Cheap Scouts, Cities and more happiness mod, it changes unhappiness per population to 0.4, unhappiness per city to 0.3, unhappiness per captured city to 3, unhappiness growth penalty to -20%, and very unhappy growth penalty to -95%. This happiness mod was supposed to do all that . . . it looks like something is wrong with it though.

Mod seems interesting I'm a big fan of your scout mod but what exactly does this mod do. the description is a little vague
