Description
My greatest upload yet, this is a map for the Battle - or rather siege - of Metz. Part of the decisive Franco-Prussian war, where Prussia defeated France in a conflict that finally convinced the outlier states of the Germanies to join the North German Confederation - and thus, the German Empire was born.

There are 36 Infantry Regiments, brigaded into 12 brigades.
There are 4 Regiments of Jagers
There is a Pioneer Regiment with 8 Pontoon bridges (not very useful on Koniggratz, but the Moselle may impose a great obstacle - be creative!)
There are 6 Regiments of Hussars
2 Regiments of Dragoons
2 Regiments of Uhlans
and 2 Regiments of Cuirassiers.
There are Rifled (6 Pdr Krupp), 6 Lb Smoothbore, 12 Lb Smoothbore, 7 Lb Howitzer and Horse Artillery blocks. They aren't numbered, so feel free to make copies for your games!

Unlike 1824 rules, the 1862 Kriegsspiel features infantry armed with deadly, quick reloading and accurate breachloading rifles.
For comparison, effective range in 1824 is 200 paces max - and they aren't terribly effective at that distance, 100 paces is much better. Their absolute maximum range in 400 paces.
In 1826, Infantry can do similar damage at 500 paces, and can deal damage at ranges of up to 900 paces!

Jagers do not have differential this time around. What sets them apart is up to you - for example, you could have them fire as if they are 100 paces closer at longer ranges (400 = 500, 500 = 600 for them). You could also have them move faster to be more like light infantry formations.

Artillery is preferably rifled, with deadly shell/fragmentation shot capable of dealing effective damage at ranges of up to 1800 Paces! They can also do chip shots past this at up to 2400 paces, which vastly outranges all other cannons on the field. Canister is no longer king - we have shell now.

Cavalry is a mixed bag. On one hand, you can have the option for cavalry to dismount (not just Dragoons) which would mirror usage in the ACW. On the other hand, European Cavalry still tended to operate similar to their Napoleonic counterparts - mostly a shock tool. Their charges can be terribly deadly - that is, if they succeed. Cavalry will struggle to rout enemy formations, but if they can get the right dice the infantry formation will be shattered and effectively destroyed.

Godspeed, and give concise orders!
