With the level of difficulty "Easy" it can be observed on many maps that the AI collects itself somewhere and does nothing more. My guess is that it's not "smart" enough for, narrow maze-like paths. Perhaps the simple AI calculates in a smaller radius of vision or action and therefore does not know what to do. It also always chooses the shortest path to base (barring territory points). And if there isn't one left (e.g. due to a broken bridge, or it's to far), then it collects all Units at the closest point to the enemy base.
My suggestion: increase the level of difficulty; On "difficult" and higher it gets awesome.
If you prefer to use the simple AI, play on small original coh maps first.
I hope I could help.
Good fight, neighbor ;-)
So there are two options left for you: either you adapt your tactics to the circumstances, for example with healing buildings (you should not press the retreat button then) or you look for the right maps for your style of play ;-) ... take a look for other MD -maps from my bro and me. Maybe there is something for you ;-)
keep enjoing the game
I have seen this to some other maps in the workshop and i dont download them anymore, it is just that it takes a long time to walk your groups to the other side of the map to cross and suddenly a big fight will make your casualties retreat all the map back...this thing is very tiring... really..
i would suggest you to make one big bridge in the center of the river for tanks and two smaller ones far right and left for infantry...
Yes, the two bridges are really a bit too close to each other.
Originally I only had one bridge, but that led to too much traffic jam.
I had also tried the option with the widened land ridge. In this version, everything was jammed there and the bridge was superfluous.
I know that in some games it can get really tough at this point. Sometimes it bothers me too.
I thought about it a lot and tried a lot, because this is the first map I created myself.
In the end, I find this solution to be the most attractive. Sometimes you need to deviate from the usual tactics and you have to find new unconventionally possibilities than always with the crowbar first ;-)
* laughs * I didn't even notice that there are no occupable buildings on the map because I hardly ever use them.
Maybe you like the other "MD" maps from my buddy and me better.
Keep enjoying the game

Maybe it's done on purpose ?
