Description
Reduce the minimal duration requirement for the trade route to complete, it would make the trader more flexible.

Now the trade route takes at least 14 turns to complete regardless the era when the trade route start
For example, the trade route of length 7 would complete with 14 turns, length 8 with 16 turns, length 6 with 24 turns.

It was set as beyond 20 turns in Original game, and the number is increased in later eras (starting from Medieval Era).
For example, the trade route of length 8 would complete with 32 turns. The trade route of length 5 would complete with 30 turns (if it begins in Medieval Era, then it needs 40 turns to complete).

Thanks the Better Trade Screen MOD for figuring out the formula for the trade route duration, If you are using that popular MOD, please have Better Trade Screen Fix also installed to correctly show the trade route duration.

The simplified Formula for trade route duration

1. N: Take the minimal duration specified by the game, and obtain the addition based on the current game era.
2. M: Obtain the actual length of the trade route.
3. ceil((N + 1) / M / 2) * 2 * M is the duration of the trade route, which means the number of rounds the trader need to complete.

After changed to 12, the duration for trade route of length 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 is 16, 20, 24, 14, 16. The following ones would be 2m for length m.

Is it possible to make a trade route eternal, but with button to complete it at any time?

So, when you start a trade route, the trader moves back and forth between the two route's cities, one tile at a time, until it makes a round trip. But, the game also has a hidden value that says "the route MUST last at least this many turns!"

This gets obnoxious for routes where a round trip is just a bit faster than this minimum since the route also can't end unless the trader is in the route's starting city.

From the wiki, the default minimum is 20 turns, plus 10 turns each when the game reaches the medieval, industrial, and information eras.

So for a worst-case example, if I start a route in the information era to a city 24 tiles away, the route will take 96 turns because the trader does a round trip in 48 turns, but that's less than 50 turns so the game says it has to take another trip.

This mod supposedly changes the minimum to a flat 14 turns, with no per-era increase, so the new worst-case is that a route that could've taken 12 turns will now take 24.

I don't understand what this mod does, it makes trade routes go slower or it makes go faster? If it makes go slower which is what I get from this, this mod makess no sense at all.

Im kind of with him, Does this mean you reduced the min from 2X to 1X to make the entire route faster? I am hoping so, ill try it. I hate that its like 20-30 turns for a small route.

It doesn't make sense that trade routs take longer the further in eras you get. Logically they should get shorter to represent the advancement in transportation and road technology. This mod makes more sense.
