This was inspired by Ashina's "Ports Produce Food" mod: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1155015148

Food production in ports was an idea I agreed with, but I had reservations about how the quantity of food kept on increasing at higher levels of port development. I thought that it would be more authentic to the spirit of Shogun 2's economic system if there was a trade-off involved, like with the market chain of buildings.

Hence this mod. This mod enables the first two levels in the port chain of buildings to produce 1 food each. Upgrading to a trade port reduces the food production to 0. The in-game rationale behind this is that a port which is more developed than a harbour can no longer dedicate enough manpower to produce a food surplus.

TL;DR the trade off is 1 food surplus vs. 1+ trade routes and higher town growth.

Coastal Village = 1 Food
Harbour = 1 Food
Trading Port = 0 Food
Nanban Trade Port = 0 Food
Nanban Quarter = 0 Food
Military Port = 0 Food
Drydock = 0 Food

AI factions in provinces that have ports will have a sufficient food surplus to upgrade their forts, so this will make the early game a little more difficult for the human player. On the other hand, the human player now derives a benefit from dismantling the surplus of highly-developed ports that the AI builds during the mid- to late-game.

No other stats, no other units and no other files are changed by this mod. These changes are applied to the Sengoku Jidai campaign, ROTS and FOTS.

i actually dont know why the base game didnt have it since japan is known for EXTENSIVE fish consumtion ahah xD

This is quite a clever little mod. I quite like it. And agree with your reservations.
