CSS Richmond 1862

Description
Ironclad Ram - C.S.S Richmond, (May 6th, 1862 - April 3rd, 1865)

This is based off a boat that fought in the Civil War.

Backstory (True)

This C.S.S Richmond (nickname Virginia II *not the one from 1863*), was one of the monsters build by the C.S.N to block the Union Army from sailing down the James River and capturing major points of supply / fortification. The C.S.S Richmond had 4-8 Dahlgren guns, a two piston horizontal backing engine, and two large boilers. The C.S.S Richmond fought in engagements like, 13th of August 1864 "Dutch Gap", September 29th 1864 - October 1st 1864 "Fort Harrison, October 22nd "Chaffin's Bluff, and her final battle, January 23rd 1865 - January 24th 1864.
The C.S.S Richmond met her fate on the 24th of January, 1865. The Richmond was not taken out b the enemy, but was scuttled by burning. The Richmond is one of the little known wrecks of the Civil War, the wreck still sits relatively un-touch to this day where she was sunk by her own crew, that fateful day in 1865...
