Ever wondered how to bring in cargo traffic by rail from across your city and create a compact hub so cargo can transfer between rail networks?

Are you also having lots of problems with your cargo traffic getting jammed up due to level crossings or having to create elaborate bridge or tunnel systems?

This solution could be the answer to your problems.

Based on the now derelict St Johns Terminal in New York, It's a modular rail cargo terminal that has been revamped to fit in within the Cities Skylines world. It's ideally situated in factory or dock areas, it's also suitable to be placed reasonably close to your city centre as the noise levels have been reduced as much as possible. As it's quite a large complex building I've also reduced the costs involved of the assembled parts to help city builders on a tight budget.

The complete building includes 4 sets of train lines, 4 large warehouses and an optional toll booth entry way.

The building will enable cargo trucks to transfer between lines as well as being a hub to send and receive goods to the four corners of your map via rail. The elevated tracks mean all your train traffic can cross over roads without the need for ramps or tunnels and allows truck and other road traffic to move around the building with ease.

There's an optional toll booth asset included in the collection so you can even add a little income from all the cargo vehicles using the hub.

The building can also be used as warehouses only without rail access. A door prop has been included in the collection to block off the openings that were required for the trains.

This video shows how to assemble the complete building. Anarchy mods will be needed to place all the parts of the building together.

TM:PE is also highly recommended along with Vanilla+ roads to give your self maximum flexibility when designing the road layout around the building. This building will initially create a lot of traffic when it is first placed as the warehouses are filled so you will have to manage your traffic well.

I've kept the building reasonably uncluttered so detailers can add props and decals as required as well as keeping the number of required props low.

Lots of thanks to Avanya for the use of her CIM branding. I definitely recommend checking out her collection of assets.

Vehicles just pulling in to deliver to warehouses and shops will always do that due to how the spawn points are coded, it's always best to build on side streets and not main roads.

Even with this collection where I have the dedicated roads for cargo going to the station built in, you don't want to build this right on a main road. I have a loop set up just for this terminal so the traffic can move around it before it goes on to the main road.

OK, it doesn't work quite like I thought it did from the video but I still love the whole set.

This is brilliant! I have been so frustrated with warehouses that only allow cargo vehicles to slightly pull in, blocking up the road. All my current cities getting a warehouse/cargo station makeover today. Thank you!
