Tempus Attritio

Description
With this mod, anytime an army is in an enemy region during certain seasons, that army will automatically suffer attrition.

The seasons that will make you or AI armies suffer attrition in enemy territory are: winter, harsh winter, extreme winter, extreme summer, blazing hot summer, wet summer, late autumn and late spring.

This attrition is separate from the attrition already in the game (i.e. when you march over snow, deserts, swamps, or mountain passes). In other words, it doesn't matter if you still march on the roads; you're still losing units if you're in enemy territory during these seasons.

The intent behind all this is to introduce more planning and strategy to your invasions. It might not be a good idea to get into prolonged fighting in a northern province prone to extreme winters, or a desert province prone to extreme summers. Measuring out your conquests, making ample use of reserve forces, and employing allied, client state or your own territory for winter/summer quarters now become more necessary strategies.

This mod is in large part based off Dresden's seasonal effects mod. I just expanded the attrition and tinkered with a few other things. Hope you enjoy it!

In this cases, attrition must be low to very low and depends on the time spent in enemy lands. Thank you.

Albion: Can you please tell me which event pop-ups have been bugged?

Late autumn/spring and wet summer is more an abstraction than anything else. Your forces are in enemy territory, and essentially they're living off the land. If the harvest isn't as good, the roads are muddier, or the fields you're walking through are full of mosquito-filled stagnant pits of water...your forces won't fare so well.

Good mod, but late autumn, late springs and wet summer attrition is nonsense..

Hey I found a bug. This mod appears to mess up the text in some descriptions and event pop ups. Specifically messes up the Quarry for the Barbarians. Please fix I want to love this mod!!!! Also how were you able to get the attrition effect? I can't find it in the db.

My thinking on it would be you could set your men into Raiding stance, and that would remove the attrition debuff because you are raiding nearby villages for supplies

Caesar: Yes. If you are in an enemy province in *any* stance, then your army will suffer attrition if it is a "bad" season.
