Description
Some changes to the way Chaos works in both Mortal Empires and Eye of the Vortex.

Mortal Empires

Spice up the Chaos invasion by rolling a d100:

0 to 89: No Chaos invasion and you're free to enjoy your campaign. Whoo.
90 to 98: Chaos invasion shows up 10-20 turns later than you're used to. Yay.
99: All of your save files are deleted, and then the game crashes to disk. You'll have to restart this campaign from scratch, and you won't be able to restart any older campaigns. Please don't use this mod.

The mod will not tell you which scenario you got. You'll know when it happens.

If the Chaos Invasion does happen:

  • You'll know when the Chaos invasion starts because the advisor will say GRAVE NEWS MY LORD.
  • You'll know when Archaon arrives because the advisor will say OBLIVION HAS COME MY LORD.
  • When Archaon arrives, the big 3 (Archaon, Kholek, Sigvald) will get a BIG movement debuff. This means they will show up after you fight all the other hordes. Assuming you survive, of course.
  • The End Times will not end after killing the big 3! You must kill all Chaos hordes to get to the Age of Peace.

Eye of the Vortex

  • Chaos will declare war on your allies, which means they'll be able to help you defend.
  • All factions racing for the vortex are affected by diplomatic restrictions.
  • Your intervention armies will actually take the fight to the enemy.
  • You can attack incursion armies headed for other factions. Select one of your generals, then right click on an incursion army, and you'll get the option to declare war. (Same thing as Attack on Incursion Armies. If you have this mod, you can safely disable the other one.)


COMPATIBILITY

Should be compatible with your favorite Chaos invasion overhaul because it does not directly overwrite wh2_chaos_invasion.lua, but YOLO.

Potentially incompatible with any mod that overwrites wh2_vortex_rituals.lua :-/ You'll have to let me know which mod you're using and what isn't working as expected.

Should be save game compatible.

Haven't tested extensively in multiplayer, but it should work.

The game works now, though i had to disable your mod to get pass that initial turn where it froze, but reenabling it still gets it playing normally.

@aimop95 - correction to what I wrote earlier: there's almost no chance the other mod is causing the problem. I will dig into this deeper and get back to you.

@aimop95 That sucks but it looks like it's not *entirely* my fault.

Question: when this situation happens to you, what happens if you hit Ctrl-S to quicksave, wait for the save to complete, then Ctrl-L to quickload?

I think I figured out what mod was interfering with yours. I have a "Chaos Invasion Hates Everyone Mod" and as well as a Mod that makes the AI declare war on a faction if they have a set amount of negative diplomacy. With all the chaos armies spawning in the last two phases of the Vortex campaign, I think that it's to many war declarations going on and it causes the game to just stop.

I haven't gotten that far with other factions, only currently Nakai, but it's happened twice in two nakai playthroughs. Normal Difficulty level. I do have another mod that makes other factions declare ware on Chaos, so maybe that might be the interfering mod.

@aimop95 - this mod is save game compatible. So you *should* be able to load from a save right before that happens without this mod enabled. If the problem recurs without this mod active, then it might be a problem with another mod or with the game itself.

Just for the record, you only noticed this for Nakai, or did it happen with other factions? What is the difficulty level?

Found something with this, I've been playing Nakai, so I can't really tell, but I've noticed that when other factions get to the last leg of their Vortex ritual campaign (the stage where everyone declares war on each other), the game just doesn't progress after you press the turn button. Like it just stops at the first faction of the turn, and doesn't move. I can load previous saves from there (cant save as it's in the turn), I can quit out, I can even modify the camera settings, but it simply refuses to complete the turn. Not sure if its because there are so many war declarations the game sort of bugs out or something else.

Does this also work for the "unknown skaven clan" and northlander raider armies?
