Description
What if the universe made sense?

Replaces default galaxy generation options with a square 21 by 21 star grid. Supports up to fifty AI empires.

Compatibility: Probably compatible with mods that don't involve planets or fallen empires.

Recommended to play with a habitable planets setting of .25.

Emergent differences from base game:

Hegemon / Common ground starts are stronger since the leading nation is less likely to be "boxed in."

Interstellar travel appears slower due to Manhattan pathing. Use https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2413222029 to improve ship speed (Blatant self-promotion).

This is version 1, so many kinks are not yet worked out. Here are some known issues / Solutions:

Grid hyperlanes are not generated / Set hyperlane generation to "Full."

Home system sometimes spawns in same system as hostile spaceborn aliens / Restart, but keep in mind that there is still a ~5% chance for this to occur for any particular empire.

Fallen Empires don't spawn / No known solution.

Infinite Space Whale Generation / Kill them when Tiyana Vek is first discovered.

Species homeworld not recognized / No known solution.

Starting system generation for voidborn and ringworld-based empires is weird / No known solution.

Game runs slow when I generate 50 AI empires / Generate less AI empires.

AI Empire names revert to random generation, even when they are prescripted / No known solution.

Advanced AI empires do not work / No known solution.

Common Feature Requests / Responses:

Add fixed empire spawning locations to the map / Unfortunately, this requires a separate system initializer for every single empire, which would have to be custom made (both the initializer and the empire).

Make the center or corner systems unique instead of randomly generated / System initializers are really hard in general, and it would be really weird if an empire spawned in that system then.

This mod sadly no longer works in 3.2, would it be possible to update it to the current patch so I can once again play this cursed layout?
