Description
Presenting the KM8300
The Kahrstrom Marine 8300 is part of the next generation of heavy duty marine diesel engines. Offering a powerful, yet reliable, low maintenance engine with good fuel economy, Kahrstrom Marine is setting the bar for the industry. The engine of a vessel is its heart and its soul. Choose sensible. Choose the new KM8300 turbo diesel V8.

Technical Specifications
Engine type: Twin turbo diesel V8
Measurements (including sub-systems): 7x2.25x3.25m (length, width, height)
Weight: 1509kg
Price: $16400

Set-up
  • Load your own vehicle. Use the grid selection tool to load and paste in the KM8300. Merge the base part of the engine with your vehicle. Note that the engine will spin to its normal position when spawned in.
  • Connect air (white funnel), exhaust (grey funnel), fuel (grey pipe in front), coolant (directly to sea, found underneath) and move the throttle where you want it. Last but not least, remember to hook up and adjust the gearbox. I recommend running it at as high of a ratio as possible.
  • Start the engine by turning the key and then holding the ignition button until the engine reaches 120RPM and runs on its own.

A huge thanks to WH1T3_No1SE for letting me use his modular engine microcontroller <3

Too little power or too large to fit?

Hey your engines are awesome, I was wondering if you have any engines that work with infinite fuel/electric and if this one works with them too.

No problem @Kahrstrom, and I’m experimenting with the engines and the hull designs I have. I have a medium sized hull, and I’ll try to put a coal engine in one as well ;)

Believe me, when you're a psychotic mechanic like I am, everything is a challenge to beat. I will give credit (if It gets uploaded, probably won't upload it, though.) I'll also be bragging on various discord servers about it, too haha. I'm currently debating on using this as a VTOL engine or a helicopter engine... Either way, I'll let you know. Keep it up, dude!

Haha, good luck :P Good man be interesting to see how that works out. Make sure to share if you succeed!

I am going to figure out a way to use this as an aircraft engine... lol

Ah ok thank you so much :D

It sounds like you engaged your clutch too fast, resulting in either a damaged gearbox (would mean the engine would just sit and rev, but no propulsion is getting through) or you stalled the engine. Make sure to engage the clutch smoothly and you'll have no issues at all. I'm using it in my own ship with my automatic clutch and it works just fine :)

So I ran into a problem with this engine and what happens is when i do the clutch and throttle once its ready the engine just dies but the propeller is barely spinning and exhaust is coming out but no propulsion is happening
