Marvel X-Men Mutant Insurrection

Description
“We’re X-Men. We know the risks. I have little fear for our friends… They’ve made their decision. And until we see them again, I will keep them in my prayers. But I fear more for those who would stand against them.”
–Nightcrawler

Though the world may despise them, the team of heroic mutants known as X-Men fight tirelessly to protect humanity from the sinister machinations of evildoers. Leap into the action with X-Men: Mutant Insurrection, a fast-paced, cooperative, dice-driven card game for one to six players! You’ll build a team of iconic heroes like Wolverine, Rogue, Storm, and Jubilee, embark on dangerous missions around the world, and accelerate toward a thrilling showdown with a villain like Dark Phoenix, Magneto, or the Hellfire Club.

Designed by Richard Launius and Brandon Perdue, X-Men: Mutant Insurrection invites you to travel across the globe on death-defying missions to recruit new mutants, capture criminals, protect innocent lives, and battle some of the most memorable X-Men supervillains. Eight distinct scenarios await you and your X-Men, each with their own challenges and each leading to a no-holds-barred showdown against the villain. The Blackbird is ready to launch—join your team and fight for the future!

Dice auto-roller scripting is in! To use, please arrange your chosen hero's power and assist cards along the bottom panel of the table, directly above your chosen color's handzone, as in the provided example, and then press the "Assemble Dice" button above their power and assist cards. You may then exchange dice from the pool by either taking from the dice bag dice items under the pad, or the associated +1 color button. Once your pool is assembled, the "Roll Dice" button rolls your total pool.

Once rolled, you may place any dice you do not wish automatically rerolled above the line on the pad, or, off of the pad entirely, before hitting the "Re-Roll Dice" button. Dice may be otherwise pulled from the dice bags or deleted at will, if people like to be more manual about it. Clearing the dice will clear all dice on mission cards, sentinel cards, the entirety of the dice pad, and also, any training tokens in those areas.

"Setup Game" Button - BEFORE PRESSING THIS BUTTON - Select one of the player colors (even as solo), then, place 2-6 of your chosen heroes on any of the hero card pads as seen below - they do not need to be associated with any particular color, but, using the select hero button will auto-grab the chosen hero for your chosen color's home area. Solo players, or multiplayers playing multiple heroes apiece, will need to place additional heros on the pads manually.

Once all hero power cards have been placed, pressing "Setup Game" will configure the continent decks per number of heroes, shuffle all decks, and give you a choice of which plot you would like to play. Selecting the plot via the buttons at the top of the table will automatically configure your chosen plot's initial setup.

Also added:

"Regroup" button - checks hero power card locations for seated players (same as the dice roller), and returns appropriate hero figure to blackbird and assist card to player home area. Also un-exhausts all bond (not broken bonds) and mutant cards in proper locations over player areas. Make regroup phase easy!

Solo player? No problem! You can still set up your hero cards and "Setup Game" same as multiplayer, however, first choose a color from any of the six player colors. Your hero cards do not have to go in the same location as your color - all heroes in play will have their own token bags, assemble dice button, trash cans, etc.

Enjoy!

I cannot save a game in progress. Well, more specifically, I can save a game in progress, but I cannot then load that game. When I do, the characters and cards are all just where I left them, but all of the scripted buttons have reset to pre-setup.

oh man. I haven't looked at this mod in ages. one day I hope to give it the love it deserves... I've gotten....much better at making mods since I made this one, heh

anyways, let me take a peek tomorrow (very late atm) and see what I can do

To be honest.... I don't remember! It's been months since I looked at this :) I'd have to load it up and see where I stashed all the assets. Pretty sure I made dice bags to pull individual dice if needed, but I think the mission cards might be hidden.

I can't make any promises but I'll try and get this loaded up soon, and if you want, I can get you a copy without scripting, just all the assets in bags or w/e

Is it possible to play this non-scripted? Like, turn off all the buttons and stuff, and just manually perform all the tasks. So that there is no threat of screwing stuff up by accidentally pressing an automation button.

That's one of the things I'd like to get in once I get time to get back at this table.

Awesome I play it. I keep coming back to it. I got the physical copy also but prefer TTS due to the space it takes.
BTW, Usually I finish my games but when I save it and load it again the assemble dice buttons are gone from the heroes and the big button "Setup game" is there. . Is there a way to be able to continue a saved game?

Unfortunately, that's just the nature of the stands in question. To be honest, it was a small miracle that my token guy was able to even make these figures work they way they do, so it would be a pretty large undertaking to do this, even if we found other stands that were angled in that manner...

I didn't know people were still playing this, I should get back to this and make some of the improvements I've learned how to do since I made this table last heh
