Description
BACKGROUND
The 16-AB RHIB is a function-oriented craft capable of performing high-speed rescue missions in less than ideal weather conditions. It was designed with dual functionality: either as a stand-alone craft for rescue and small firefighting missions, or to be launched from a larger vessel to perform high-speed tasks. Designed and built since 2015 by the (fictional) Oregon-based shipbuilder "AB Marine", the 16-AB has been sold worldwide to an assortment of lifeguard and commercial fleets, in 2 different trims:

  1. 16LX-AB | Loaded variant with all options
  2. 16R-AB | Economy variant with reduced options and lower profile for launching from larger vessel

The 16LX-AB is built with function, size, weight and performance in mind. It can reach speeds in excess of 85 km/h (45 knots) and is intended to be operated by a 1-man crew. The craft is balanced and can be hoisted from a single lift point on the centre or by two lift points on the bow and stern. All necessary life-saving equipment can be found on board, as well as maintenance/diving equipment for performing repairs.
